Posie is planning to re-build the women’s sector, starting with crowd funding for a women-only refuge.

This whole thread is slagging off other women's services, by women who from what they say on this thread, do not understand the need or sector at all.
Most women do not go out of their area to access a refuge by choice. Most women want to stay in the same area and send their children to the same school. It is the severe shortage of beds in refuges that means they often have to go out of area. Only those with the most dangerous partners choose to go out of area.

@TinselAngel anyone else in any sector asking for £150k to set up a new project with so little detail would get asked a lot harder questions than Posie is getting. Asking questions and raising concerns is not a personal vendetta. And I think this response makes it more likely that the hard questions are not asked about this project.
Saying you will work all the details out later is not good enough. I would work out more details than Posie appears to have if I was throwing a children's party.

Personally, I'm 100% confident that Rise are much better placed to help women that Posie - she doesn't know anything about providing services for women who've suffered abuse and trauma. Rise have 26 years experience in the field

In which case you do a fundraiser / donate and campaign for them if that's your preference. Rather than riding on the back of Posies campaign to try and direct people donations away from it. There's room for all of them.

There really is something pretty stinky about trying to bring down another woman's campaign to create safe sex segregated spaces tbh.

Rise are a wonderful service, but they lost their funding. This is a live problem in the sector right now. It seems a little strange to say - leave it to the organisations that are having funding pulled because of this ideology.

I think the questions and concerns about detail have some validity. Defensiveness and character assassinations do not.

I would, I do and I have. I'm saying that the direction of travel is hugely concerning - refuges having funding pulled because they're not gender neutral enough. To get to this stage battles have been lost. It needs daylight and it needs radical action to highlight what is going on because something isn't working. At no point did I say no one should give money to Rise. I objected to using them to undermine PP's efforts.

You can do that can't you. If you want to donate. Then donate your money. Don't try to dictate to others where they should donate theirs.

P.S. people are really upset at the prospect she'll succeed. Given that half the world seems to think Posie is planning to run this shelter (WHY?), why the evergrowing triffid would any transwoman want to go near it?

Everyone would love her to succeed. That is not my concern.

The whole point is that the female people this would serve cannot access all the other fucking provisions because they all serve people of both sexes.

They cannot allow female people even one, single solitary provision if they fund it themselves. Not one.

No, posters are saying ask Posie if you have questions because she's not able to answer them on this forum herself as she's banned. Posters are also saying that we can all give our money to whoever we choose.

But Posie is not answering questions. She said she had not worked out the details yet. Just give me the money.
