For all those who PM’ed and wanted me to put it on its own thread.
Here you go.

This is the video my year 6 watched at school (without any consultation with parents)
I’m just speechless.

They were also told about Robert/a Cowell and puberty blockers were mentioned, although I’m not sure of those details.

Head and deputy are the safeguarding leads at the school, so where do I start with the Governors? Overwhelmed.

"Then campaign for better LGBT education in schools. "

By complaining about poorly made bilge like this, that's exactly what we're doing.

@stonecat I know, I just wish they didn't defend their ideology by trying to harm all LGBT people.

@andyoldlabour

I went on to Youtube to have a look at the comments. I should have known - Comments disabled. Of course they have, we can't have anything disturb the echo chamber.
Ah they were disabled for ahem, "other" reasons. A lot of people were unhappy with LA for some reason that the antipodean farmers can help with and showed their disappointment via the comments section, which then led to a lot of woke parents saying they could not let little junior watch in case he read the comments.

And GC feminists are not trying to stop LBGT stuff being learned about in school, they are trying to stop children being forced to accept they are a boy or a girl.

That a boy can play with dolls and a girl can play with trucks and not be accused of not being the sex they are

ShrinkingViolet9 · 24/05/2021 14:53

World's gone fucking mad.

ShrinkingViolet9 · 24/05/2021 14:55

I note that the Comments are turned off for this YouTube.

Agree. This is why we need more LGBT education in schools.

We need to breakdown stereotypes and let kids be kids. That includes letting trans kids be themselves.

OhDear2200 · 24/05/2021 14:56

You’ll be comparing my name to a household appliance soon.....

WinterTrees · 24/05/2021 14:56

Have you asked them that? Or are you, presumably a heterosexual person, presuming on their behalf?

I don't need to ask them to know that spoon-feeding children unscientific nonsense dressed up as fact is not doing them any favours.

Erikrie · 24/05/2021 14:56

It's important to teach children to be tolerant and accepting.

Of course

That includes teaching them that LGBT people exist.

They can be taught that LGBT exist without bombarding them with innacurate 'information' about gender ideology. And this video isn't about the LGB. It's about the T. That's it.

As someone who was once an LGBT child, I'd have benefited greatly from knowing that I'm not "abnormal" and that there are others like me.

That's totally different from feeding kids dangerous politically motivated lies and pushing that gender is assigned at birth. Which it isn't. Sex is observed. That's it. This video is abusive.

This video is great. More of this sort of thing

I don't think so. It goes against government guidelines. Fortunately. The Gender house of cards is tumbling down. Just sweeping it all up for the bin now.

lazylinguist · 24/05/2021 14:59

That includes letting trans kids be themselves.

And not suggesting to a child that they might/should be the opposite sex based on what clothes/hobbies/colours they like or what their personality traits are. Because that is sexist stereotyping pure and simple.

Why are trans people "political"? This same argument was made about Gay Rights for (at least) two decades, until marriage equality.

The existence of LGBT people isn't political. Just as the existence of women isn't political.

PS: Sex isn't observed. Read above to learn why.

Where does that happen in the video?
ConcreteUnderpants · 24/05/2021 15:00

Ok letter so far is
I have just discovered this. I’m not happy. Who gave it the go ahead. Why was there no consultation? It’s fucking madness and goes against what the DfE says. What are they going to do to repair the misinformation? Send me the school EO policy. I want an answer within a week. Please.

Short to the point, no real ranting. Will Cc Governors in to email.

Have you got any other parents on board?
Cliff1975 · 24/05/2021 15:02

This must be such a relief for trans kids to see, especially those with unaccepting parents or parents they can't talk to. For kids that are not trans it helps them to understand their peers who are. What are you all afraid of?

ConcreteUnderpants · 24/05/2021 15:03

@Ostara212I only know of 2 who are aware and reported it a few months ago when the children saw it. One is going to bring up gender identity at RSE consultation meeting later in the week.
