On Wednesday April the 28th 2021 I received a call from a PC Laura Daley from police scotland requesting i attend an interview for homophobic and transphobic tweets under the milacious communications act.

I was asked to attend that coming Friday, she told me I had to attend East Kilbride police station so I could be then transported to Cathcart police station in a police car because I would have to go to a police station where there is holding cells, I would be then processed, questioned and then most likely charged.

I told her I would not be attending any interview on that day especially with it being a bank holiday weekend because my autistic twins needed me and I was scared I would be held all weekend.

To this she told me she would attend my house with social workers for my boys.

I contacted a solicitor straight away and he was unable to get PC Daley so for the first bank holiday in May I sent my disabled twins away for fear of this officer carrying out this threat.

This absolute nonsense has been hanging over my head for a month, I can barely sleep
or eat and I still don't know what the offending tweet is, my new interview has been scheduled for Thursday the 27th May, I will find out what I am supposed to have said at that point and if I will be indeed charged, again at another bank holiday, I just want to say, anyone who knows me, knows I am not homophobic or transphobic, I am a hard working mummy who would fight to the end for the safety and dignity of women and girls and for my vulnerable twinnies.

If we sit back and do nothing we will regret it for ever. For this reason I will never
Wheesht.

I have noticed multiple Twitter accounts falsely impersonating David Paisley too.

OllyBJolly · 06/06/2021 02:01

Can you post evidence of that, @MargaritaPie ?

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/06/2021 02:13

I'd report that to Twitter then Margarita

BilindaB · 06/06/2021 06:28

@Losttheplotyearsago

Does anyone know what she actually tweeted?
No. She has been charged over 6 tweets, only one, the ribbon, has been released. And as I said, the ribbon was not just a picture of a ribbon , then text accompanied it said it was pinned to an address near to where a target lived or worked, implying stalking or 'I known where you live) vibes. I'll be deciding where I stand when all the evidence has been presented.

@Cwenthryth

Ach I donated originally via GoFundMe, double what my normal gardening fee would be anyway, when I saw it had been taken down I was ready to quadruple it.

I felt I couldn’t justify the time off work to be in Glasgow on the 20th....but now, if my money isn’t needed, am wondering about using it on train tickets/hotel and donating my annual leave days instead. Realistically it’d be at least 2 days from London.

You can fly into Glasgow from Gatwick which is much quicker.

Thanks, I forget to check the Scotland pages but that was a decent article.

ScreamingMeMe · 06/06/2021 08:31

That's you reserving judgment is it, Blinda Grin

ScreamingMeMe · 06/06/2021 09:01

@OllyBJolly

Can you post evidence of that, *@MargaritaPie* ?
I did a search on twitter and couldn't find any, nor any mention of any. Hmmmn.
SpindleWhorl · 06/06/2021 09:01

What "target", @BilindaB? I don't understand.

Ifyourefeelingsinister · 06/06/2021 09:02

Love the fact that Jenni Murray, with her 56k followers, has tweeted support - horribly stressful for Marion, but I think her case is going to have a massive impact ultimately.

FannyCann · 06/06/2021 09:51

A PP mentioned the joy of Wimbledon and the associated colour scheme. Here's a link to the shop if you have excess £££ to spare (not many bargains to be had).

Rather a nice scarf I thought, and also liking the beanie for colder months. And bless them - the filter for M/F clothing offers:

Gender
Unisex
Men's
Ladies'

I'm trying to compose a suitably polite and elegant but witty letter of advice. Any suggestions?

Whoops. Forgot the link.

The NHS is still using "gender" not "sex" on lab forms, consultant letters etc.

I know what i think the answer is to this...

But like bilinda i like to reserve judgment and now think that no evidence is being posted for nefarious reasons....as opposed to margarita not having had a chance yet(which is my go to reason for people not doing stuff)

CardinalLolzy · 06/06/2021 10:02

I agree about waiting to see what the tweets were.
I don't think the general location was a reference to an actual place but a joke. Trying to explain more about it might be contempt of court. It didn't say anything about "pinning" or give an actual address and I didn't infer anything about stalking so maybe you are looking at a different tweet than me.

"I had to delete some of my previous tweets due to wording, however, I can confirm I have pledges and donations up to £30,000.00.
You did it, you fabulous women and men.
At this time I do not need any further donations until we know how this will escalate.
Thank you all so so much"

Paralithic · 06/06/2021 10:13

I don’t think the set location for a certain TV programme is top secret - you can book a tour in non-Covid times if you’ve got a spare £14.

I think it was just some coloured ribbons spotted in an amusing location, given the criticism against Marion.

SpindleWhorl · 06/06/2021 10:23

Oh, got you, it might be like me taking a photograph of sufragette ribbons hanging by a certain set of law chambers or lobby group HQ? A kind of "oh, the irony" moment?

Grellbunt · 06/06/2021 10:43

At a local primary, "sex" is a bad word akin to sweating and uttering it will earn them a rebuke. This kind of squeamishness in the UK doesn't help matters... (thought prompted the NHS comment below). These attitudes to words are just so ingrained in UK culture.

Tibtom · 06/06/2021 10:47

Takes you back to the victorians - so progressive Hmm

SpindleWhorl · 06/06/2021 10:55

"No sex please, we're British"

Grellbunt · 06/06/2021 10:59

I doubt it is an official policy or anything so I'm hesitant to complain to school. But I have made sure my kids know the difference between sex and gender and the various meanings of each. Other kids might not get that full explanation at home! I suspect the teachers might also not be au fait with all the nuances. And yet words are so powerful....

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 06/06/2021 11:36

people had taken an image of my twinnies I shared the day before and sent emails with utterly vile messages.

From Marion M's thread - I don't often say this but I hope she's reported these messages to the Police.
