Scottish woman told would be charged for homophobic and transphobic tweets

On Wednesday April the 28th 2021 I received a call from a PC Laura Daley from police scotland requesting i attend an interview for homophobic and transphobic tweets under the milacious communications act.

I was asked to attend that coming Friday, she told me I had to attend East Kilbride police station so I could be then transported to Cathcart police station in a police car because I would have to go to a police station where there is holding cells, I would be then processed, questioned and then most likely charged.

I told her I would not be attending any interview on that day especially with it being a bank holiday weekend because my autistic twins needed me and I was scared I would be held all weekend.

To this she told me she would attend my house with social workers for my boys.

I contacted a solicitor straight away and he was unable to get PC Daley so for the first bank holiday in May I sent my disabled twins away for fear of this officer carrying out this threat.

This absolute nonsense has been hanging over my head for a month, I can barely sleep
or eat and I still don't know what the offending tweet is, my new interview has been scheduled for Thursday the 27th May, I will find out what I am supposed to have said at that point and if I will be indeed charged, again at another bank holiday, I just want to say, anyone who knows me, knows I am not homophobic or transphobic, I am a hard working mummy who would fight to the end for the safety and dignity of women and girls and for my vulnerable twinnies.

@FightingtheFoo at the moment, I think it's not possible to donate as Marion's PayPal has been put on hold. I would wait and see what updates are made on her Twitter account about it, when a reliable method has been established.

The issue I would guess with PayPal is just that it's a personal account that has suddenly become very active and receiving a large amount of money. They will have to check that everything is above board.

She'll probably need to do something like Allison Bailey did. I'm sure people will advise her tomorrow. There's no rush plenty of time to raise money if she needs it and I get a feeling she could raise 100K in a day the level of anger out there.

Someone duplicated Marion’s Twitter and put up a fake paypal account. She has taken hers down but the sum raised was just short of £10k.

The amount of crap that poor woman has had to put up with in the past few days is unthinkable.

Ach I donated originally via GoFundMe, double what my normal gardening fee would be anyway, when I saw it had been taken down I was ready to quadruple it.

I felt I couldn’t justify the time off work to be in Glasgow on the 20th....but now, if my money isn’t needed, am wondering about using it on train tickets/hotel and donating my annual leave days instead. Realistically it’d be at least 2 days from London.

Just FYI, Teddy accuses Marion Millar of fetishising and objectifying (her own) children, because Marion has the word "mother" in her Twitter bio together with the hashtag #NotWithMyChild. He specifically objects to Marions use of the word "my" in that hashtag.

As if our language wasn't being tortured enough, the use of the often necessary and typically useful pronoun "my" is here framed as an automatic act of objectification.

No mother degrades her child to the status of a mere object by simply using the phrase "my child". To claim she is, betrays a staggering ignorance of language, objectification and motherhood.

To be fair, Teddy has shown staggering levels of ignorance on other matters previously, so this is not a departure from the (lamentable) norm for this individual.

Huh? We all say my child/my daughter/my father/my hamster/my friend/my colleague/my postman, etc. It doesn't mean we own these people (or hamsters), it just shows where we stand in relation to them, otherwise we could be talking about any child or postman or hamster.

There was a woke person on Twitter the other day saying that she was no longer using terms like 'summer' or 'winter' because they weren't inclusive of people from the southern hemisphere. I don't think it was a parody account. Personally I would credit people from the southern hemisphere with a lot more intelligence. It's a woke strategy to constantly shift and narrow the language rules so that nobody will ever feel confident that their speech will evade the witch-hunt. Chilling and Orwellian.
