feminism must remain trans-inclusive as much as campaigning for transgender rights must remain feminist

I'll stick with centring women and girls, for all your 'musts'. Very tired indeed of natal men explaining to actual women how to feminist properly.

Thelnebriati · 12/05/2021 15:34

@soberodent

“Feminism is a political practice of fighting male supremacy on behalf of women as a class, including all the women you don't like, including all the women you don't want to be around, including all the women who used to be your best friends whom you don't want anything to do with anymore. It doesn't matter who the individual women are. They all have the same vulnerability to rape, to battery, as children to incest.
Poorer women have more vulnerability to prostitution, which is basically a form of sexual exploitation that is intolerable in an egalitarian society, which is the society we are fighting for.”

Lord lord lord, soberodent; take your fight to opposing the oppressive gender stereotypes which force children of whatever sex to conform with things which don't fit them, instead of attacking the fact that children are malaffected by this pressure.

It really is not possible for human beings to change sex: science (which you have appealed to) is pretty clear on that. They can and do mess with their gender, which is mutable and depends on their decision and how they choose to appear, but they cannot decide to have a different sex from the one they developed in utero.

soberodent · 12/05/2021 15:49

@Erikrie bro i am a girl this stuff affects me as well. i believe all children should be safeguarded, especially those in need, which is very much transgender children as well as girls. Transgender rights and feminism are not in conflict with each other; feminism must remain trans-inclusive as much as campaigning for transgender rights must remain feminist, AND IT IS. there is literally no other group in society with as in-depth and personal knowledge about the societal construct of shallow and prescriptive gender roles, and transgender people in particular often in childhood find themselves brushing painfully against what society deems "proper conduct". the difference is when a cisgender woman performs "normal" femininity, transphobes like yourself have virtually no problem with it most of the time. however, whenever a transgender woman performs "normal" femininity, transphobes like yourself rush to make equivalencies to blackface and cultural appropriation, even if the trans woman still faces systemic misogyny as well

I don't think anybody here would want to stop you from being as feminine as you want to be rodent, but no amount of performing femininity (or masculinity) will make anyone change sex.

Women are adult female humans, not humans who 'perform femininity'.

wow dude let me go ask my endocrinologist, multiple therapists and various other medical professionals im in contact with if science validates transgender people real quick. i cant tell u their answer for sure but spoiler alert i dont think its very sympathetic to your position tbh

Did you just misgender the pp ,😲

There's only two sexes. Regardless of what changes one makes to their bodies, there still are only two sexes. And as children cannot transition medically, then that position becomes even clearer. No matter what someones gender is. Sex isn't the same thing as gender. But sure, go ask your endocrinologist ☺️

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/05/2021 16:08

Depends how you define sex, of course. If it is something that depends on how the individual feels, then it can alter from day to day. If it is something which is based on embryonic development and DNA, it does seem to be pretty-much immutable.

Great. Then this guidance supports both you'll be glad to hear.

Btw, I'm not your bro, so stop misgendering me.
And quit the name calling too. Concerns about safeguarding is not transpohobic. No matter how you want to frame it to suit your own narrative.

Hope this helps ☺️

What's 'normal femininity', soberodent?
