Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Who here would have voted for Sadiq as London Mayor if he supported single sex spaces for Londoners?

I certainly would, and would have really liked to vote for him but just couldn’t do it given how he has approached this issue - ie avoided even discussing the impact on women.

It’s looking close very surprisingly between him and the Tory candidate,

@Lavera9

The Greens describe women as “non-men”, @Lavera9. They don’t think we’re proper people at all. It’s a great shame because I would actually vote for an environmentally focused party if it were only properly connected with reality and didn’t despise my sex.

I looked it up and they had invited “women and non men” - ie: women and transwomen - to join something. That’s not the same as describing women as “non men”. She seemed to be describing TRANSwomen as “non men”, which seems fair to me... as they’re transwomen, they’re not men.

Did I miss something there? I only looked it up quickly.

Yes you did. The "non- men" are not trans women. "Non- men" are natal women.

No Green politician would ever describe a trans woman as a "non- man".

A bit tangential, but I have recently read a couple of articles, by men, on how Liz Truss is “surprisingly” popular amongst Conservative party members.

Lots of burble about her International Trade role, but neither picked up that she is one of the few politicians who clearly knows what a woman is and is prepared to stand by her beliefs. Perhaps something other politicians could note. Popularity with Stonewall does not automatically translate to popularity with the electorate. People want their politicians grounded in reality.
