In Scotland we have a song about Aiken Drum. He played upon a ladle apparently, so that'll do for me.

Is something weird happening to this thread? On my Threads I'm Watching I can see two posts about Aiken Drum. But the last post I can actually see on the thread is my own one clashing about.

DH and I got stuck in a public square in Barcelona during a festival with dozens of Catalans all playing something like an oboe but 10x worse. It was nearly 20 years ago and DH still shudders if I mention it. It feels like FWR could do with a blast of that to clear the tourists too.

I don't think it was aimed at here, because that happened to me last night when here and a couple of other threads were not letting me see the last two or three new posts.

I lay awake composing a reply about how tempering our need to speak the truth so as not to remind people of things that hurt them was patriarchal oppression in action (it sounded better in my head), only to find this morning that the thread wasn't showing up. Not to make this a TAAT, obvs... but does anyone know anything?

I came here to ask that same question. And got side tracked into enjoying all the videos posted. Reminded me of watching the kids setting up their instruments and the happy buzx that gives any room. Pre-Covid my kids played in 5 orchestras, so I am a very experienced audience member).

Anyway, yes, I didn't post yesterday coz I wasn't quite in the right frame of mind and can't find it today either.

I play the salt and pepper grinders. They are great percussion instruments.
