Lesbian Visibility Week

ASugarr · 01/05/2021 07:39

As Lesbian Visibility Week comes to an end, I want to make a quick reminder that
ALL LESBIANS ARE VALID!

Cisgender and Transgender women can be lesbians. Transgender men who date women don't consider themselves lesbians. All Lesbians deserve visibility!

Additionally, many have stated that they don't wish to date transgender people. That's fine! Just because someone is in the same dating pool doesn't mean you MUST be attracted to them. Plus genital preference is also totally fine! But don't forget, trans women are women so please do not degrade them just because you personally don't wish to date them.

Plus, let's continue to educate one another on the important information. Like preventing STI's as a lesbian, domestic abuse in lesbian relationships and how to deal with that, safe and consentual sex between lesbians. This is what we need to be educating young lesbians and bisexual women on.

Have a fabulous long weekend all 🤍🌈

Ugh, no Asugarr, you simply cannot come out with a statement as racist as that.

PPs have really tried to discuss your thinking with you, but no. Absolutely ffs no.

Erikrie · 02/05/2021 20:49

That is disgustingly racist. 😡 Reported.

Nodal · 02/05/2021 20:50

I repeat. What happens if your brother detransitions. Is he still a man? Was he still always meant to be a man?

I know you have BPD and very black and white thinking goes along with that but your statements of opinion as fact really don't get you anywhere in trying to convince us to believe what you believe (if that's why you're here?)

ArabellaScott · 02/05/2021 20:51

Biologically most will

No, biologically, all will. That is very simple and basic, there is no way on earth to change one's chromosomes.

An apology to Avocado and other women of colour wouldn't go amiss, you know.

Angry Reported too. That was vile.

ArabellaScott · 02/05/2021 20:53

Honest to god, please just stop and think about what you are saying.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 02/05/2021 20:53

I object to black women being othered in this way. It is horrendous racism.

LostToucan · 02/05/2021 20:54

Biologically most will

Most? No human being can biologically change sex.

Nodal · 02/05/2021 20:54

How do you biologically change sex ASugar?

And that was incredibly racist.

Helleofabore · 02/05/2021 20:55

That's not racist. You wouldn't say to someone that they are a white/black/etc woman and they can't refer to themselves as just a woman. That's the same with people who are trans.

The fact that you cannot see the racism here is quite something.

Erikrie · 02/05/2021 20:55

love your posts on here but this isn't true. I've been around a lot of transmen and transwomen and it's not always possible to tell.

In fairness I suspect I may struggle on occasion to tell with transmen. It's not just about passing though, some transwomen do an extremely good job of passing, but there often seems to be something, a movement, the way people hold their bodies, such tiny things that are barely noticeable, but they just jump out at me.

ASugarr · 02/05/2021 20:56

@Nodal

How do you biologically change sex ASugar?

And that was incredibly racist.

Legally they aren't the sex they were born as. You can think it's racist but it is actually a point made by many women of different races who support trans people.

CorvusPurpureus · 02/05/2021 20:56

You said this: Just because someone is a black woman doesn't mean they can't just be called a woman and that they aren't a woman. Exactly the same applies.

You suggested that a 'black woman' might somehow have their status as a woman questioned in the same way that a male person identifying as a woman might.

Your racism is disgusting, & I say that as someone who has cut you a good deal of slack on here.

Appalling.

WoolOfBat · 02/05/2021 20:56

I find this horrifically racist. And unbelievable that people can other black women in this day and age. And to the benefit of mainly white middle class men.

Leafstamp · 02/05/2021 20:57

He doesn't have people know that he is trans. Most people don't know he is. That's what he wants.

Yet you declare it all over this board, which most of us know links to your very public twitter account.

That’s a bit disrespectful to your brother’s privacy and wishes isn’t it?

Erikrie · 02/05/2021 20:57

It's not always possible to tell. But I really think it's irrelevant to the argument anyway. For the few who can pass well, they are still men biologically and those are the facts

Yes.

Helleofabore · 02/05/2021 20:57

If you cannot see how using women's race, their medical conditions etc. as linguistic comparators for transwomen, that says a great deal about your flawed logic and inability to evaluate critically for yourself.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 02/05/2021 20:57

In my own experience, it's a point mostly made by white people who want to signal that they are supportive of trans people.

It's getting a bit personal having a go at @ASugarr's brother who isn't here to defend himself.

I don't really care what anyone calls themselves. I think if I had dysphoria to the extent that I transitioned - socially and/or physically - I would say that I was a man or a woman too. It wouldn't be true but I get why it's important to believe it.

I've only ever had a problem with this the thread because it was deliberately goady towards lesbians and I don't get why. Why deliberately try to wind people up. For what purpose?

Erikrie · 02/05/2021 20:59

Othering black women in their own sex class is very upsetting. Please don't try and justify this racist position.

CorvusPurpureus · 02/05/2021 21:01

Still not true Asugarr & established many, many pages back.

Exactly and that's the way it should be. No one should tell others who they are.

@theThreeofWeevils

Which is a really long winded way of saying you have cis privilege Well, that didn't last long. Deal's off, Shizuku

Please don't write trans women or trans people as a single word. It is offensive to most trans people

Funny how you don't want your spaces taken away, isn't it?

I'm quite late to the party, but your grammar jokeSmile is terribly funny.
