Shout out to my fellow lesbians on this important week!

I will be wearing my lesbian pride badge right next to my trans pride badge for the whole week in all public spaces.

Perhaps I should ask the vet for assistance on this matter because it's "science" right?

Whatever you do, remember AFFIRMATION AND VALIDATION. Just keep telling him/her/they/them/kitty/kittyself that they are stunning and brave, and living their best most fabulous life. And also, EDUCATE YOURSELF 😾

Why are genitals apparently so taboo now, given that women are supposed to completely disregard the presence of male ones in our female spaces?

Interesting, really.

NecessaryScene1 · 29/04/2021 22:32

As a trans ally which terms do you think denote sex and which denote gender?

And will the answer be the same tomorrow?

CorvusPurpureus · 29/04/2021 22:33

It's all very confusing.

According to Stonewall, if I cross dress I'm trans.

So having just removed my son's socks (he nicks mine all the time too, we're a very sock inclusive family), I've just stopped being trans. I think.

But then I'm definitely not cis, so maybe I'm still under the trans umbrella?

However, whilst I do quite fancy some women, & have had same sex relationships back in the day, I'm also attracted to men, so if there's one thing I am quite sure about, it's that I'm not a lesbian.

& if I were male, then I'd be clearly 'not a lesbian' before I even needed to consider who I want to go to bed with. End of.

Solidarity to lesbians this week. This bullshit must be exhausting, & it's awesome to see lesbians reclaiming their definition - qv. Pride in London ratio, & also this thread.

NecessaryScene1 · 29/04/2021 22:35

It is fantastic how much visibility trans people are getting.

It's almost as if they haven't all read that Dentons document.

There's good money down the drain. Grin

Oh, well, lawyers can force clients to take their advice.

can't force

obviously.

Erkrie · 29/04/2021 22:36

Because it's incredibly disrespectful. You don't need to know what genitals she has. At all. So don't ask.

Appropriating widowhood in faux offence in order to bring down a trans widows support page is incredibly disrespectful.

J060 · 29/04/2021 22:38

Happy lesbian visibility week to all the wonderful cis and trans lesbians ! 😊

It is. The high point for me was Get the L Out's fantastic lesbian takeover at Pride in London 2018. I watched the flummoxed buffoon reporting for Pink News (Nick Duffy?) repeatedly announcing that they were leading the parade without knowing what else to say. It was glorious.

Sorry to link to PN but it's worth it for once! Video about half way down the page.

Sheroes.

I have this problem too Corvus. I mean, I'm trans, but I'm sitting here in a baggy men's hoodie (that I cough temporarily acquired cough from my boyfriend). Although I'm biologically male but fully/surgically transitioned with a GRA, does wearing men's clothes mean I've either detransitioned or not trans anymore?

This entire thread is having such a profound impact on my sense of self and my perception of my own sex, gender and sexuality I just don't know anymore. The education I'm receiving from other posters is profound...

I think it may mean you don't even exist.

Make sure you're not fading out like Marty in Back to the Future.

I think it means you've been cancelled. 😉

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/04/2021 22:42

Happy lesbian visibility week to all the wonderful cis and trans lesbians !

What about the many lesbians who are neither? Don't you care about them?

Smile
HamsterV2 · 29/04/2021 22:42

GRC even.

No, I'm definitely still here.. Just horribly confused like my cat. At least I still have my unicorn with the ice cream cone on their head.

Deliriumoftheendless · 29/04/2021 22:43

But how do we know to use the correct and respectful terminology (as Shug has told us is cool 🤍) of penis haver/vagina haver if we don’t know? We can’t assume genitals! We could misgenital! #thehorror

NecessaryScene1 · 29/04/2021 22:45

I can certainly assume it's bollocks.

I think all is well so long as you've got your unicorn. Terrible waste of that rum & raisin though!
NecessaryScene1 · 29/04/2021 22:46

You're literally erasing your existence Hamster.

I'm now visualising extremely vigorous self-abuse with the wrong end of a pencil, getting little pink bits everywhere.

What a way to go.

HamsterV2 · 29/04/2021 22:47

Oh god no. I am Schrodinger's trans! Shock
