@FromEden

It was being discussed in FWR in August 2018

And on reddit in the Gender Critical sub, before it was banned. I wonder was AC involved in that decision too?

Yes; Glinner mentions it here grahamlinehan.substack.com/p/something-rotten-at-the-heart-of

@WarriorN

I meant, that Aimee seemed to be saying transmen choose to remove their cervix. So I'm not sure they know what one is.
I think it’s more like they have just o have it removed, because of the vaginal and cervical atrophy the hormones cause. But whatevs. Potato/potahto.
WarriorN · 24/03/2021 20:23

Ah yes, gah that's awful.

WarriorN · 24/03/2021 20:23

Still not a choice.

WarriorN · 24/03/2021 20:24

Notice that question didn’t get answered

Yep. Never does.

happydappy2 · 24/03/2021 20:32

Yes, it would make sense if a trans man was on TV arguing for the inclusive language but the fact it’s a trans women just seems bizarre...when talking about cervical screening for women...

Talking of Streisand effect : reddit comments might load differently for everyone but top for me is the AC situation with 9k upvotes

@LemonSwan

Reddit has been sinister for a long time. I had an incident a while back where I was discussing womens rights and had serious issues as a result. Perma-banned, facebook hacked, email hacked, banking attacked, you name it - even my phone was hacked and loaded with altered fbook pictures of my friends covered in meme blood with threats written on it. It was likely an admin as it happened simultaneously with the permaban.

I had to scrap every phone, every machine, change internet provider and have my house rewired to the box, and obviously start all over again on the net. Police reports. The works.

It was pretty serious and now I am very careful where I discuss women's rights or those who might oppose it.

Flowers So glad i left Reddit. An absolute sewer.

Oh it's 18k now Shock

zzizzer · 24/03/2021 20:51

I'm really interested in what Reddit end up doing here. What do we think - doubling down or apologising?

SuddenArborealStop · 24/03/2021 20:54

Askreddit is huge and that thread is all AC and has not been over modded if it's any indication

Dyrne · 24/03/2021 20:57

Ooh interesting that this thread is here. I commented on one yesterday which was swiftly deleted for being “not in the spirit”.

I’ve been enjoying the Reddit discussion and the circular conversations yesterday where people were filling others in while trying not to get a ban - found a few saying things along the lines of “had to read about it on Mumsnet of all places” Grin

PotholeHellhole · 24/03/2021 21:00

I'm not sure if this will load, but I think the people on reddit should keep posting this, as it was a Julie Bindel article that did it.

FYI

A few people have mentioned that AC created terfblocker.

I am pretty sure I remember correctly that AC worked with her dad to create it.

Mumofgirlswholiketoplaywithmud · 24/03/2021 21:22

AC would have been exactly the sort of person to mock mothers with a
"think of the children" type line whenever safeguarding concerns would have been bought up.

What could the dad's motive have been?
NiceGerbil · 24/03/2021 21:24

I think how and why AC has walked into all these roles. Is very strange.

NiceGerbil · 24/03/2021 21:24

Dunno. Helping his child. Disliking women. Who knows.

I'm pretty sure I remember something about AC being photographed in front of the attic door in his father's house for a publicity photo or something? Apologies if I've misremembered and if so I will ask for this post to be deleted.

ArabellaScott · 24/03/2021 21:29

“had to read about it on Mumsnet of all places”

Anyone doing a 'we TOLD you so' T shirt with the MN logo on, yet?

I think that mght have been celebrating Girl Guides allowing self ID or something?
gardenbird48 · 24/03/2021 21:31

@WarriorN

I thought that at first but I think she's trying to make the point to the masses that a transman was a woman and will know they have a cervix.

Because getting Aimee on may have confused people who really are completely oblivious to this. So she wanted to make the point repeatedly that it wasn't any to do with AC and that AC had a prostrate.

Ah that makes sense - I only had half an eye on it as I was dishing up tea.

The potential for confusion is obvious and confusion over terminology and messaging is definitely not going help the majority of women.

I agree with pp - AC is not the obvious choice for this interview.

40k!!
MonkeyNotOrgangrinder · 24/03/2021 21:37

ArabellaScott Yes maybe that was it, iys hard to believe but it did really happen didn't it? Not sure on whether it was before or after AC would have found out about that pervert being charged or not though
