In this series of tweets Davina says that women being killed is rare (tell that to the 118 women whose names were read out by Jess Phillips (& their families))

https://twitter.com/thisisdavina/status/1370302344575995904?s=21

And goes on to victim blame, saying that she wouldn't walk home in the dark.

Isn't Davina a surrendered wife though, or was? She has had some weird ideas about how to keep a man happy.

Bmidreams · 12/03/2021 13:43

Then he left.

BlackBucketOfCheese · 12/03/2021 13:46

Wtf?!

Oh and her next tweet about not walking home in the dark.
Make it make sense Davina.

CattyCactus · 12/03/2021 13:48

“And men’s mental health is an issue too”
Jeez.
It’s all about the poor fucking men.

irishfeminist · 12/03/2021 13:50

Ffs. These bloody handmaidens. I don't walk home in the dark either and don't let my daughter either but that is Not. The. Point.

AnyFucker · 12/03/2021 13:50

She is on all fours begging for the cookies. Gotta feel sorry for these women.

StephanieSavetowin · 12/03/2021 13:51

It's a bizarre Tweet, but luckily the general conversation seems to be moving away from victim blaming

TheRabbitOfCaerbannog · 12/03/2021 13:51

Won't someone think of the mens!

yourhairiswinterfire · 12/03/2021 13:53

I wouldn’t walk home alone in the dark.

I'm glad Davina has the choice. Many of us don't...

ShirleyPhallus · 12/03/2021 13:56

To be fair almost everyone is serving her her arse on a plate

The only person who agrees is Dan Wooton. Who, let’s face it, is an awful human and when he agrees with you you know it’s a pretty shit view to hold

Supmama · 12/03/2021 13:57

I read it and was like C'mon Davina get a grip!Confused

JosieJarker · 12/03/2021 13:59

So ignorant to her own privilege.
Lucky woman that never has to walk alone in the dark.
Some of us don't have a choice.
These things happen in daylight too.

Thelnebriati · 12/03/2021 14:04

Six women and a little girl have been have been killed since Sarah Everard disappeared. Thats not exactly 'rare', is it.

Twistered · 12/03/2021 14:04

Davina pet you probably are that privelleged that you don't need to walk anywhere. But back in the real world many many many women have no choice but to walk home in the dark.

Also..... if I want to walk home in the dark I bloody well should be able to without worrying about being attacked. My male friends do NOT have the same fear of being attacked walking home in the dark.

Davina just isn't getting this is she ffs.

Considering the amount of followers she's got that tweet seems completely irresponsible to any younger people reading it. Hopefully she's so out of touch that all she's done is annoy everyone else. She needs to eat some sugar and stop courting the Daily Mail. Silly woman.

peak2021 · 12/03/2021 14:08

Presenter of the show that was largely about baiting vulnerable women, Big Brother.

I look forwards to CheltenhamLady explaining how women should go about their business, and applying her logic to all other forms of crime.

Whatwouldscullydo · 12/03/2021 14:12

Personal responsibility?

So we should hand over 4/5 pound a night to taxi/uber drivers when we finished work cos we all know thats safe ?

Or don't work at all right, because even a 9-5 job , well.its dark.by 4 In winter perhaps we should only work.in the summer?

Or maybe not work.and be financially dependant on a man cos that always works out well. Someone better tell the UC people though cos they Actively sanction you if you don't look for work.

So, what do we do? Any suggestions?

EtonMessy · 12/03/2021 14:13

@CheltenhamLady that implies you think Sarah Everard didn’t take responsibility for her own safety!! Victim blaming much !!

RhapsodyandAshe · 12/03/2021 14:16

@Whatwouldscullydo I was just about to post about winter, so in Davina's world we are all confined indoors between 4pm and 8am November through until Feb?
Back in the real world, not very doable is it?

JosieJarker · 12/03/2021 14:16

I can drive but I still have to walk to the car park.
Its a multi storey, I absolutely hate it.
The bus stop is same distance as the carpark then 10 minutes the other end to my house.
Its dark at 4.30pm in winter.
Guess I should take some personal responsibility for my own safety and quit my job.

ACovidofWitches · 12/03/2021 14:17

Lots of people come out with idiotic things at times and I think that's fair enough. The important thing is reading peoples' responses and being open to changing your mind, so I hope she does. My heart sank at what she posted. Mind you, that's been happening a lot recently.

Whatwouldscullydo · 12/03/2021 14:21

rhapsody.
Say we do all those things. Does that solve the problem ? Or is it just some other poor woman/girl who attacked instead...

Gonna do wonders for the world of equality and the pay gap isn't it. Hands the justification of paying women less right over to the guys.

And if course not being abke to attend school after lunchtime in winter won't lead to girls being more likely to be stuck in a job that finishes late or is shift work without the ability to afford a car....nope, no.problems.there...
