The Green Party has no interest in the protection of women and children.

Do women have a home in the green party? That the party refused to pass a motion recognising women's rights and that Sian Berry boasts about defeating it suggests not. That's the kick in the teeth not the passing of self-ID. The party wouldn't let women have that and that is really revealing about the misogyny and rejection of women.

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 08/03/2021 09:41

Over a thousand people liked it too. I'd be sorry that the Green Party has lost all chance of election but tbh they stopped focusing on climate change ages ago.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 08/03/2021 09:41

The Challenors will be pleased.

I agree.

WarriorN · 08/03/2021 09:57

"Sex based rights were defeated"

That is such a chilling sentence.

gardenbird48 · 08/03/2021 10:00

The co chair of Green Party Women cheers the vote against sex based rights (which harms women) and continues to work for a company that prescribed powerful drugs to children without medical supervision or their parents knowledge. This is also an issue that concerns women deeply.

Remind me how K Bristow has any interest in issues that concern women again...?

I used to vote green from time to time, they weren’t my go-to party but I did often vote for them depending on the constituency I was living in. I guess they’ve calculated that losing votes like mine will be irrelevant because of all the other votes they’ll gain. Or they genuinely think I’m a transphobe and they don’t want my vote regardless. Either way, they’ve made their choice, I think we all need to make ours. We’ll see how it works out for them. Relying on young activists didn’t work out too well for labour last time around, but maybe they’re onto something that I can’t see.

sourdoughismyreligion · 08/03/2021 10:04

The Greens vanishingly small chance of ever becoming the party of government has now become even smaller.

Kendodd · 08/03/2021 10:09

Actually I think if women want to change this they should join the Green party on mass (if other policies aline). Why should women abandon the party/be forced out? Join, and shout louder, I think most people, if you explain the situation and consequences and showed real world examples, would agree that sex based rights should stay. Women are letting themselves be forced to the margins, and worse, far right. Fuck that. I'm often a Green voter. I'm going to join the party because of this and strongly and loudly argue my case.

BraveBananaBadge · 08/03/2021 10:12

No kidding, Warrior. That's right up there with "enjoy your erasure" as a statement of intent. Women will never forget this one, either.

I too am a some-time Green voter who will never vote for them while this is what they choose to stand for.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/03/2021 10:13

I think it's worth supporting the other co-chair though. She's a brave woman.

StillFemale · 08/03/2021 10:14

That statement needs to be advertised far and wide so that women can be left in no doubt what this ‘debate’ is actually about.

Whatwouldscullydo · 08/03/2021 10:15

If I can't have them no one can...Hmm

Emma deserves a medal.

Sian Berry is pathetically craven in throwing women and girls under the bus. She deleted all her supportive tweets and retweets of Aimee Challenor pretty quickly when that particular shit met that particular fan though.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 08/03/2021 10:24

I voted green at least once. I know it was a wasted vote as conservative always win where I live, so I thought at least I could ensure that the green candidate didn’t lose their deposit. Next time I’ll just vote conservative as they seem to be the only party who know what a woman is.

WarriorN · 08/03/2021 10:25

I joined to battle this shit as I won't let greenies go this route.

Men voted for Gp W chairs. I'm. It taking about anyone identifying as anything, normal young men were voting.

Men are voting for these motions.

AdHominemNonSequitur · 08/03/2021 10:36

Strong support for the Greens in the comments there on twitter from people claiming affiliation in their bio with NOMAP. ( Non offending minor attracted people) They have their own flag and slogan. 'because attraction isn't a choice'

horseyhorsey17 · 08/03/2021 10:41

The Green Party also has no interest in preventing climate change. According to a friend who attended conference, it was barely even mentioned. Bristow has no interest in environmental issues as far as I can tell either. The GP is now entirely an SJW party.

WarriorN · 08/03/2021 10:43

Bristow seems to care more about nails than climate change.

horseyhorsey17 · 08/03/2021 10:45

Although having been a GP member in the past, they've never actually been seriously interested in any kind of power. It was total amateur hour when I was involved. I can't see mass entry from blue-haired gender warriors having significantly changed that in any way.

InsideNumberNine · 08/03/2021 10:59

For all their protestations that they are women, TW seem intent on dismantling their 'own' rights...

TinselAngel · 08/03/2021 11:07

I've never thought of joining a political party with the intention of lobbying on behalf of my employer not being regulated. It's a pretty self interested view of the reason to seek public office isn't it?

WarriorN · 08/03/2021 11:17

The majority of the rt quote tweets are damning.
