Mr Blunt, 50, said: 'It is also clear that there is a much greater strand of homosexuality than of heterosexuality which depends for its gratification on the exploitation of youth.'

Hmmmm.

WTAF.

highame · 07/03/2021 14:58

Just had a thought. I wonder if all those MP's who have been doing secret deals etc., are now feeling a bit twitchy. Stella might be feeling like she needs to look carefully at what she's been cooking up with Stonewall. Not saying she has done anything to contravene Standards in Public Life, but there might be a few feeling a little uncomfortable.

As u were Grin

highame · 07/03/2021 14:59

Anyone going to open a book on how long it will take for GEO to stop being a Stonewall Champion?

PurpleHoodie · 07/03/2021 15:02

Good news.

ErrolTheDragon · 07/03/2021 15:06

@Shedbuilder

According to that Daily Mail Crispin Blunt, before he came out as gay, is on record as saying in a debate in the HoC:

homosexuality is 'not equivalent to heterosexuality'.

Mr Blunt, 50, said: 'It is also clear that there is a much greater strand of homosexuality than of heterosexuality which depends for its gratification on the exploitation of youth.'

Hmmmm.

Hmmm indeed, in several ways. Apart from the obvious, that warped perception rather suggests that the exploitation of girls is so completely under his radar that he's not including them in 'youth'.
RedDogsBeg · 07/03/2021 15:08

what I don't understand is, how does a man come out as gay at age 50 and decide to go all in for queer theory gender ideology. I don't get it. he realises he's same-sex attracted at 50 and then pushes Stonewall version (that's homophobic) campaigning to remove sexual orientation from the equality act and remove sex based exemptions. What is it with these men?

Wouldn't surprise me if Crispin wants to come out as something else hence the push for self-id, no medical diagnosis required, no checks required, no hormones or any other physical changes required.

Friends say Victoria Blunt - a former banker, and the daughter of a wealthy American - felt betrayed because she had sacrificed her career and used her fortune to support her husband's political life.

I bet she feels betrayed, poor woman.

FindTheTruth · 07/03/2021 15:15

Bloody hell Red. well if it happens, you saw it first.

Shedbuilder · 07/03/2021 15:15

I did think that Mrs Blunt's experience possibly had something in common with those of some of the transwidows. It also made me think of one ultra-straight, Bible-bashing man I know who came out in his 40s and is now a deeply misogynist gay man heavily into the S+M scene. He was a client of mine.

Justhadathought · 07/03/2021 15:22

What is it that's motivating Crispin Blunt? He seems a very unlikely trans ally

Many gay men automatically see this as being the same as the gay rights struggle......and have very little obvious concern or understanding for women's issues.

Justhadathought · 07/03/2021 15:36

heavily into the S+M scene. He was a client of mine

Really?

That wasn't referring to Blunt.

@highame

I am so, so delighted, I can't believe this. This is the best news ever (except for all the other pieces of good news we've had recently)

In my submission to the Government Equalities Office, I wrote a great long list of why the Office was unfit for purpose and could not be trusted to look out for women's rights. Government departments did not appear to be acting within the standards by which government officials must adhere

I also strongly criticised Crispin Blunt and Caroline Noakes for their treatment of women who held GC views and felt their actions undermined trust in the principles of Standards in Public Life.

I also copied the piece to Liz Truss and my MP

Well done!

And well done OP

RedDogsBeg · 07/03/2021 15:50

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised, can you imagine the fawning circus there would be and Mr. Blunt does love adulation.
SunsetBeetch · 07/03/2021 15:54

Gosh Shock

Justhadathought · 07/03/2021 15:58

Little joke...ha!

TheBurmundseyIndustrialEstate · 07/03/2021 16:01

Blunt is the one who spoke out against banning poppers, as they are used by some gay men.

Can't see him campagning much for the women in his constiituancy though.

But Blunt's voting record isn't exactly pro gay rights.
persistentwoman · 07/03/2021 16:11

Such an important disclosure. This demonstrates precisely how all the removal of women's rights to safe places and diminishment of child safeguarding standards. At the behest of a small group of unrepresentative adults in positions of power and influence.

The outcomes of the forthcoming court cases and FOIs are going to be so revealing about how this lobbying has happened.

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/03/2021 16:15

Digging around re Kaleidoscope Trust in Companies House and the Charities Commission is quite interesting

Manderleyagain · 07/03/2021 16:17

The only reason it came to light is because he talked about it in parliament. If he had kept schtum we would not have known.

I wonder who the complainant was, or maybe it was sex matters? There are good reasons to keep names confidential with things like this, but well done that Complainant.

BarryTheChopper · 07/03/2021 16:24

Peter Kyle is my MP.

Unlike Russell et al, he has never overtly nailed his colours to the mast that I have seen, and has always given the impression he understood the nuance.

It feels like an even bigger betrayal therefore that he has been secretly campaigning to remove the rights of half his constituency.

I’m not sure if it’s pointless to write to him again but I’m tempted.

Cailleach1 · 07/03/2021 16:24

Not referring to this case as such. Aren't there deep pockets behind this ideological entrenchment globally? The assault on women's rights is happening globally. They were successful in Yogyakarta. People who fund/funded Biden's campaign etc. 'They' who pay the piper calls the tune!

There have been incidents of cash for questions /influence in WM in the past. Jonathan Aitken went to prison. There may be a multiple of others who were not found out. I have said before that I thought it would be much more sophisticated now.

The co-ordinator being paid by outside influences in this particular case. Anybody could be behind it all.

Justhadathought · 07/03/2021 16:33

A 60 year old man taking poppers......I'm getting a bit of a sordid feeling.

Floisme · 07/03/2021 16:33

An apology is all well and good but, after presiding over such a flagrant breach of standards, I assume Blunt will also do the honourable thing and stand down as group Chair, no?

Justhadathought · 07/03/2021 16:40

CB said in the parliamentary submission above he'd been taking poppers for decades......
