Superstraight is trending on twitter. No I hadn't either.

Its a subcategory of straight that means that straight people can now be included in the lgbtqi+ categories. Or something. Hooray! Fight for my superstraight rights too Stonewall!. Or something

Well, Empress, I’ve taken you at your word when you said please don’t stop, Talking. Carry on. That’s a request from a superlesbian. Grin Possibly a bit more than you bargained for GrinGrin

Talking, you are a superally and when we’re allowed to meet up again I’ll buy you a drink GrinWine

EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 07/03/2021 00:10

Pretty clear is just a pisstake against people who are LGBTQ+ now so thanks for at least clarifying

I don’t know about the BTQ+ but the pisstake against the LG is gender ideologists’ blatant lack of respect or recognition for our sexual orientation. I’d say the superstraights are showing that up nicely.

Strikemepink · 07/03/2021 00:10

@vimtosogood

I expect they'll have threatened him too, but the threats to his mother pushed him to delete it. I'd have done the same in his shoes.
Oh absolutely, I’m sure I would too.
Mockolate · 07/03/2021 00:12

I don’t know about the BTQ+

Well, there you go then, as I said
Making a lot more sense the more the thread goes on

NotTerfNorCis · 07/03/2021 00:16

Backlash to what? Being trans?

Backlash against the idea that sex should always be ignored in favour of gender identity. Sometimes biological sex matters.

Strikemepink · 07/03/2021 00:16

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark brilliant post.

PotholeParadies · 07/03/2021 00:18

I don't follow how you can possibly be confused. You've been on FWR for how long now? I don't see how you can have missed lesbian women being upset for being guilt-tripped and abused for not being sexually attracted to transwomen and gay men being upset for being guilt-tripped and abused for not being attracted to transmen.

vimtosogood · 07/03/2021 00:23

Is it really that hard just to accept that some people don't want to have sex with you?

thirdfiddle · 07/03/2021 00:26

Wait a sec, a straight man not wanting to date someone with a penis is being homophobic because he doesn't want to risk /being seen as/ having a gay relationship? That's the most twisted logic I've seen this year. He doesn't want to have a gay relationship. He's straight.

And if you insist on redefining straight to include penises and that the majority agree (don't believe it for a second) then he has every right to label what his sexuality actually is so he can try to find a compatible partner. If his is a minority sexuality as is being claimed, should it not be included in the LGB+ spectrums of minority sexualities? Particularly if he is frequently getting abuse for it.

ItsLateHumpty · 07/03/2021 00:28

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark that was epic! I feel so much better after reading it - it bought home to me how polite and restrained we are on this board because eggshells.

That post made me feel like I’d just taken a great big lung full of air.

To all the #supers Brew

Datun · 07/03/2021 00:29

@TalkingtoLangClegintheDark

A bunch of homophobic straight men being so disgusted by the thought of seeming gay that they make up an orientation to verbally exclude trans women

These are YOUR WORDS, Evarish. Your words.

You are saying that heterosexual men who are attracted only to biologically female people are “homophobic” and are “making up” a sexual orientation. You are denying the existence and validity of sexual attraction as the vast, vast majority of people experience it and have always experienced it - based on the SEX of their prospective partners, whether that be opposite sex (hetero), same sex (homo).

Stop with your absolute bullshit about “making up” an orientation. This is what heterosexuality and homosexuality literally mean, FFS. Genuinely heterosexual men are NOT INTERESTED in a partner who has a penis, it is the OPPOSITE of attractive to them. Not because they’re homophobic but because they’re STRAIGHT.

This used to be completely clear. These words had meanings that were commonly understood. Until there was a concerted attempt to change the meanings of fundamental terms into something quite, quite different, an attempt which you clearly support.

And the worst thing about that is that all the arguments re straight men have been being made against lesbians for years now. Lesbians who are equally NOT interested in a partner with a penis because they’re SAME SEX attracted - I suppose you think that’s a “made up” sexual orientation too, do you? FFS - are called “transphobic”, and no longer have a word to describe THEIR, and only their, sexuality because it’s been stolen from them.

Now we have “lesbians” who have biologically male partners; we have “lesbians” who are themselves biologically male - where the fuck does that leave the women who are only attracted to other biological females? It leaves them excluded from the “LGBT community”, it leaves them being attacked for being “transphobic” and pressured to consider biologically male people as partners, it leaves them without a name for THEIR sexual orientation.

It leads to the “progressive” version of corrective rape for young lesbians who are told that they can’t be exclusively same-sex attracted if they want to be part of the LGBTQ+ community, those who are unsupported and vulnerable enough to doubt and suppress their own feelings because they’re being told they’re horrible bigots otherwise, who don’t have the confidence and experience to stand up to this misogynistic juggernaut of a movement and say NO to penis, all penis in all circumstances.

This is what you are promoting. This is how you are contributing to rape culture, and THAT is what is disgusting, truly abhorrent and disgusting and vile, not the fact of me naming it, and calling you out on it.

Now straight men are saying enough, and so they have come up with “superstraight”. Not because it’s a made up orientation - how fucking batshit naive and divorced from reality do you have to be to think that?! Honestly?! - but because the language that unequivocally hetero- and homo-sexual people used to use for their long established sexuality has been stolen from them and corrupted to mean something else, to be meaningless in fact.

And because they’re straight men, they’re largely immune to the kind of abuse that lesbians have been subjected to for having exactly the same feelings over recent years. The fact that men are saying this means it will be heard and accepted a lot more, and it will shine a spotlight on the unacceptable shit that lesbians have had to put up with for years now, and make it harder for the lesbophobes to pull the “transphobic” card on them, so that’s why it’s bloody brilliant to see. That’s why we’re celebrating here. Because this is a place that cares about women. An alien concept to you, no doubt.

So yeah. You steal and corrupt the terms for things that need a specific name, and the people you’ve appropriated them from will have to coin new terms, because whether you like it or not, exclusively single sex attraction, whether it’s opposite sex or same sex, is not going away. And people who experience either one want a word to describe their sexuality, not some wooly assortment of pick n mix leanings.

Hence #superstraight and #superlesbian. You don’t like it, tough. This is the real world. And in the real world, there are two groups of people who don’t want to sexually/romantically interact with a partner with a penis, full stop - always have been and there always will be. Get over it.

Well, Empress, I’ve taken you at your word when you said please don’t stop, Talking. Carry on. That’s a request from a superlesbian. Grin Possibly a bit more than you bargained for Grin Grin

Fabulous post.

Not a piss take, a point.

Who, me?
As I said, hadn't heard of before this thread and so looked.
Not confused anymore

You've been on FWR for how long now?
What's that got to do with anything, you tell me? Confused
Does it really matter

YetAnotherSpartacus · 07/03/2021 00:35

Is anyone else having the urge to listen to Super Trouper?

HeadIsFucked · 07/03/2021 00:42

Have only seen this used as a kind of pisstake thing.

Have today seen friends 'come out' as superstraight. But also supergay and superlesbian. Meaning, well what the old meanings of straight, gay and lesbian meant. Opposite SEX attracted. Or same SEX attracted. Activists are none to impressed and have been frantically trying to call out the bigots for daring to have a sexual orientation, instead of being attracted to 'gender'. Grin

I even saw a transactivist try to take on a superstraight man this morning. The insults and threats, funnily enough, did not happen though. It ended quite well with the activist basically saying 'you do you' instead of 'choke on my ladystick transphobic bigot'

HeadIsFucked · 07/03/2021 00:46

Also its not taking the piss out of gay people at all, or transpeple (assuming they are not the activist type, who reckon sex is not a thing and being gay/straight is bigoted because gender is all that matters..). Its taking the piss out of the ridiculous people who think its acceptable to bully and guilt people (usually lesbians) into sex with male people. So yeah, its a pisstake, but with an actual point behind it, but also the opposite of the 'taking the piss out of gay people' thing that some seem to be twisting it into. If anything, its asserting gay peoples right to be bloody gay in the first place, instead of being called bigoted and mean for having a sexual orientation.

justsaymaybe · 07/03/2021 00:47

I just don't see the need for making a song and a dance about it and declaring that you don't do dick, or don't do fanny, or whatever.

That's sounds a lot like what's said to LGB people, doesn't it? Sleep with who you like, I just don't want to hear about it. That doesn't sound very inclusive to me.

Mockolate · 07/03/2021 00:47

Christ, glad I don't have all that in my friends list, sounds dramatic!

Mockolate · 07/03/2021 00:48

I already did tell you. It was in the next line.

That's sounds a lot like what's said to LGB people, doesn't it?

How?
When I'm saying it doesn't matter who you sleep with?
Bit of difference when you're someone saying it doesn't matter who you sleep with, and aren't discriminating against anyone, when on the thread you've got people saying "bit discriminatory and is what is said to LGB people" - but at the same time discriminating against people themselves?

Mockolate · 07/03/2021 00:57

You seem to be misunderstanding, where do you get how long I've been on FWR, and does it really matter - what has what we're talking about now got to do with anything on this thread, and why do you think what you've quoted has any relevance? Confused

CatChant · 07/03/2021 01:13

@TalkingtoLangClegintheDark Epic post!

Delphinium20 · 07/03/2021 01:15

This just in...so the young man who started #superstraight has just pulled his video because TRAs threatened the life of his mother.

They threatened his mother.
