Superstraight is trending on twitter. No I hadn't either.

Its a subcategory of straight that means that straight people can now be included in the lgbtqi+ categories. Or something. Hooray! Fight for my superstraight rights too Stonewall!. Or something

@nauticant

This continues to delight. The trans activists are failing to see what's happening. Normally when they aren't getting their way, they look across at a bunch of non-compliant women and resort to the usual gaslighting, abuse, and threats.

Following that template, in response to #superstraight there are loads of trans activists declaring stuff like this:

twitter.com/tarohamtaros/status/1368289405660655617

Today, possibly for one day only, the rules are different. The people they're attempting to gaslight include teenage boys and men. Telling them they're being transphobic because they wouldn't accept transwomen as potential sexual partners is a fantastic blunder.

This one is almost incredible.

'I can't express enough how hard it is trying to date cis people sometimes because of assumptions like these'

Surely 'trying to date cis people' is as transphobic as all get out?

'Mama, we're all non-binary now.'

vimtosogood · 06/03/2021 21:47

I'm super, thanks asking

Leafstamp · 06/03/2021 21:57

@Spidder

But isn't choosing a partner discriminatory anyway? I fancy men. I fancy men who are around my height and fairly broad. I think I actually fancy a male version of me Hmm But if I fancy someone, I very quickly imagine having sex with that person. Penis and vagina sex. I have dumped perfectly good men because of penis size or inadequate use thereof. On that basis, a tm is going to be off my dating list. Just like skinny men or flabby men. Just like I'm going to be off a lot of people's lists.
Yes, choosing a partner is almost certainly discriminatory. Interesting article here:

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/03/2021 21:57

Are you honestly so daft that you think the LAW dictates what makes someone a lesbian?

There's a clear definition of "lesbian". It doesn't involve any male people. That's the whole point.

Sophoclesthefox · 06/03/2021 21:58

It’s like the Queens Gambit of checkwoke Grin

Skewers the double standards very well. I like it even more than the post here the other day telling someone that because she didn’t have a gender identity, she was actually trans.

People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones made of pompous neo-pronouns and not expect a bit of satire coming their way!

Christ alive, there is some dreadful art springing up under the hashtag though - my eyes, my eyes 😱

A legal definition is a description, not an order!

That's a set of interesting viewpoints and it is no surprise to see that they are actually quite young. People can end a relationship for any reason, you can't stay in relationships out of misplaced guilt, loyalty, whatever. They can also not start one for the same reasons.

One tweet though tells us that 'boxes are for cis people' transpeople are far too diverse apparently.

Hopefully one of these days all these people will realise that there is a whole world out there, and they are just as boring unspecial as the rest of us.

NotTerfNorCis · 06/03/2021 22:14

Seems the long-awaited backlash is finally here. And driven by blokes.

BaronessWrongCrowd · 06/03/2021 22:22

TRA's are having a proper meltdown over it.

@AfternoonToffee

That was a fun look through Twitter, though obviously it has now put transpeople in grave danger apparently.

I am thinking that SuperGay could make for a good superhero.

Since IWD has been co-opted, can we have International Super Day?

Helleofabore · 06/03/2021 22:44

Just saw one tweet declare that superstraight people are not part of LGBTQ+ like maps.

Faffertea · 06/03/2021 22:44

Checkwoke and genderwang are my 2 new favourite words Grin

nauticant · 06/03/2021 22:45

One thing that might help you in your engagement with mumsnet Evarish is that "it's bad because I declare it so" isn't generally accepted as gold standard proof round these parts.

nauticant · 06/03/2021 22:48

Looking at twitter Helleofabore I've seen a number of trans activists equating the hashtag #superstraight with paedophlia. It's not made sense but for some reason it seems to be how they want to respond.

Spiegelx · 06/03/2021 22:50

When it comes to people declaring they are #superstraight or #superlesbian we need to bear in mind the importance of “Acceptance without Exception”.

Helleofabore · 06/03/2021 22:56

It is sad times when that is celebrated in any way nauticant.

Mockolate · 06/03/2021 22:57

Seems the long-awaited backlash is finally here

Backlash to what? Being trans?

I'm straight, I don't see the need to announce I'm "super straight" though.
If I didn't fancy anyone for any reason, just a "no sorry" like I usually would without going into details why would suffice.
Do people usually be like "no, 'cos you're fat, no 'cos, you're ginger, no, 'cos you're blonde?" or whatever so why the need to drill home "no. cos you're trans?
Just don't date trans people if you don't want to then.
Announcing you're super straight as blokes just seems like you have a problem with being seen as "less of a bloke."
Whatever the heck that means
Just seems like

Mockolate · 06/03/2021 22:58

No idea what that random just seems like is at the end of there for, apols
