Hasbro rebrands Mr Potato Head

Mr Potato Head is no more. He has been given a gender neutral name, he's now just plain old Potato Head.
Presumably Mrs Potato Head has been given the chop too.

I wonder what accessories they will come with now.
And I wonder what toys will be next.
Any ideas?

Maybe they'll also rename Sindy as Sandy so it can self identify easier?

If they're not changing the accessories, they're just saying male is default.

I don't believe anyone looks at a Mr Potato Head and thinks, "hmm, could be a girl".

I assume they just decided they could use this as an excuse to just produce one basic product and lots of lovely £££ accessories kits.

I think this is ridiculous. They could at least have called him it they the potato head person something more inclusive like Mx Potato Head or NB Potato Head or Vegetable-Related Effigy Representation.

You've been able to get a gazillion variations of 'Mr' Potato Head for years. I had a whole bunch of Star Wars character ones almost 20 years ago including Leia. They all start life as a plain potato and you can use the accessories to create whatever you want and whether that's a 'male' or 'female' character or an alien character or whatever. You have been able to do that for decades.

Sadly OP this is rubbish. Mr Potato Head still exists. Mrs Potato Head still exists. The overarching brand, which used to be "Mr Potato Head" is now simply "Potato Head". This is not a story worth getting exercised over!

I would have thought Mr Potato Head would have been left alone butan outcry about Mrs Potato Head and she have bern silenced (no lips for her).

Of COURSE she was cooler than Barbie. I had Sindys and they spoke like me (London). My sisters had Barbies who had hideous faux-American accents.
