Solidarity in Aldi today!

This is my first thread in a very long time but I wanted to share the uplifting and fabulous experience I had today in Aldi😂

I reached 'peak' during the last lockdown and lurk regularly on here while trying to make sense of the madness.
DH is supportive to a degree but very nervous of me being vocal about my GC views as we are both teachers. I am a middle leader in a secondary school and he worries about me getting sackedConfused
So I can't discuss this much IRL.

Anyway, queing outside Aldi today and saw a woman a few people ahead of me with a 'Woman
Noun
adult human female' tote bag. I was thrilled and as soon as there was an opportunity (by the fruit and vegWink) I told her I liked her bag and that I knew what it meant.
She said I had made her day; I replied I she had made mine. Then she said 'Solidarity sister and see you on the next march'
We went on our separate ways but bloody hell it was brilliant. To vocalise it and be recognised. Felt a bit emotional and even now re-writing it, am a bit teary.

Just wanted to share. It was wonderful.

Just to clarify, I mean lacking in feminist bag users / t shirt wearers. Not that I was expecting to buy Adult Human Female t shirts in the middle aisle (though that would be awesome).

God this fucking lockdown is making my brain leak out of my ears. Confused

Am I the only one who really, really hopes Janey Henderson’s bag wielding woman of mystery is reading this thread?

Oh YES! Or that she might have heard Kellie-Jay’s podcast.

SunsetBeetch · 17/02/2021 19:37

@BuntingEllacott

The FPFW leafletter recounted handing leaflets to a group of lads on bikes on Moss Side. This was reinterpreted by the snobs on Twitter as her inciting motorcycle gangs to rough up trans people. But fantasists gonna fantasist, I guess.
Yes, including Owen Jones and Shon Faye.
SunsetBeetch · 17/02/2021 19:40

Oh and I had a moment like this today. My colleague has a list of YouTube videos she wants to watch. (We were discussing what we watch/listen to when wfh.) On it was Zuby's video interviewing Posie Parker. I've given her some suggestions. She's new to this stuff, and is rather horrified (freedom of speech is also very important to her). I have a fledgling GC colleague! I'm so happy!

Now I really want to see “Solidarity in Aldi 2: The Reunion”. Who knows where that might lead?

This is my dream! It's partly why I posted. I need to know if the march she referred to is real. Sadly, I haven't had anything from her yet😢 I will be using that Aldi all the time now. It's my second nearest one but worth the drive 😆

That Scottish school video (upthread) is utterly shocking. Awful. The teacher’s behaving like an indoctrinated Stasi fanatic in East Germany.

Such oppressive, indoctrinated authoritarian behaviour really brings home that the people trying to stop women fighting against TWAW aren’t just enemies of feminism. They’re enemies of freedom and reason and individualism. Very frightening.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/02/2021 23:48

Yes, including Owen Jones and Shon Faye.

"Voice of the common man" socialists that they are.

So I've just ordered my bags GrinGrin I'm very excited. Aldi, here I come!

MaudTheInvincible · 18/02/2021 11:58

There isn't an Aldi near me. I'll have to take my bag to Lidl instead.

TardisThroughTime · 18/02/2021 12:07

I’ve just got my t shirt and my DD24 said ‘Christ don’t wear that outside mum you’ll get lynched’ Grin

This.

These people are dangerous.

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 18/02/2021 12:12

I use my bag in Tesco every week. I probably need to be more careful in case I’m outed as the local sticker woman. Not received any thumbs-up yet but did get a “nice bag” from a woman on my way to work a long time ago. That cheered me up no end.

Speaking of which. Some git on Amazon has ripped off Angela’s This Witch Doesn’t Burn design, just like people have been stealing Standing for Women’s Adult Human Female. If you’re going to buy anything, please do it via Standing for Women or Wild Womyn Workshop so the right people benefit!

Hepsie · 18/02/2021 20:40

Some people just can't keep their hands off of anything that's not theirs can they. Women's rights, our name, our legal protections, our merchandise. If I spot it anywhere where it's clearly ripped off I'm reporting it.

YES to this!

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 19/02/2021 10:15

Would it be naughty for me to pop one of my new stickers (they're on their way Grin) on the little box on my trolley where you put your token?!! I feel it could be spotted by lots of people this way.

EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 19/02/2021 10:47

Do it!!!!!

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 19/02/2021 12:23

I'm having wee moments when I can just , just, feel the tide changing direction. Slowly. But it's there ...

Norma27 · 19/02/2021 12:54

Received my bags and a few sickers/postcards freebies. So pleased with them.
Think I'll use one bag as a poolside bag when I can go swimming again.

My stickers have arrived (and some freebies too) - thinking of where to deploy them once lockdown is lifted (can’t use them all in supermarket toilets...) and found some badges to order from Wild Womyn - ‘ Female biology is not an identity’ and ‘ Female is not a feeling’.

Also loving the Wild Womyn stickers - this one should be in ALL female toilets!
