Is gone? Why on earth?!?

Literally the only contentious posts were whether or not tablet and fudge are similar.

Deletion message says it looks like the OP isn’t returning so they’re taking it down.

Since when was that a reason to delete threads?

It should have been taken down after the OPs second post if not the first, since it was a fairly obvious statement of intent.

Oldmummybear · 03/02/2021 11:18

I enjoyed that thread, so what if Disgusted isn't coming back.

Eccles cake anyone ?

BaronessWrongCrowd · 03/02/2021 11:18

Please bring it back @MNHQ there was a really nice things to do with celeriac that I was going to write down Smile

TheBuffster · 03/02/2021 11:19

Perhaps tablet is not in the spirit.

I'm getting the feeling irony, tongue in cheek and humour is not in the spirit.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/02/2021 11:24

I posted the celeriac and bacon soup recipe on Bunbury if anyone wants it.

guinnessguzzler · 03/02/2021 11:24

GrinGrin
Just came on for a quick home schooling break. No pancakes or tablet for us now! Confused

womanity · 03/02/2021 11:26

If I wasn’t quite so busy doing everything in the world I’d spend some time reporting AIBU threads where the OP has vanished.

OP posts:
ErrolTheDragon · 03/02/2021 11:27

Maybe next time someone starts a thread like that - be it a DoM or a midnight misogynist type - someone should just start a thread in the recipes section, put in a link to it and then we can decamp there?

TottiePlantagenet · 03/02/2021 11:32

Yes please ErrolTheDragon , that looked really tasty. I'd mentally bookmarked it to go back and copy it...

I see no reason to delete that thread, unless @MNHQ have a dislike to egg-related puns.

TottiePlantagenet · 03/02/2021 11:33

Ah, off to Bunbury Blush

PeterPandemic · 03/02/2021 11:33

But I never got an answer about a grated pastry pie top Sad

There are soooooo many threads where the OP never returns - why don't those threads get deleted? Was it all the talk of marmalade?

terryleather · 03/02/2021 11:36

Quite obviously the FWR vipers are to have absolutely no fun at all Angry

PeterPandemic · 03/02/2021 11:38

I'd quite happily mute all the celeriac talk tbh. It's the devil's uncooked bollocks as far as I can tell but I skipped through that because of the tablet and Kendal mint cake. Plain chocolate dipped KMC would be worth climbing a large hill for.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/02/2021 11:40

You can get chocolate covered KMC. It's a rare example where adding chocolate makes something less sweet.

Joisanofthedales · 03/02/2021 11:42

I really really need the marmalade cake recipe. It was going to cheer up my lockdown blues.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/02/2021 11:44

But I never got an answer about a grated pastry pie top

You'll just have to make up a bit of pastry and do the experiment. My prediction is that the shreds will be liable to burn. I'm also puzzled about the concept of grating pastry in the first place. Surely easier to cut strips and shove them on - doesn't have to be in a fancy lattice just some one way and then some at right angles on top.

PeterPandemic · 03/02/2021 11:51

Today is left over pie day so perhaps I'll mangle a lattice half and a grated half. The grated pie I had ages ago was lovely though, I just don't know if it was some special only for grating pastry. And I was inspired by all the recipe talk to ask but clearly that's when a thread gets deleted.

InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud · 03/02/2021 11:54

My sausage casserole recipe is lost forever....will no one think about the children?????!!!!

I wonder if the pastry was frozen? As all I can imagine is lumps of pastry being pushed through the grater....
PeterPandemic · 03/02/2021 11:59

I'm going to use really cold pastry and grate it quick.

Obviously I've not made it yet because I've been busy googling kendal mint cake and finding a block of tablet DD had squirrelled in her room to remind her it isn't soap.

ArabellaScott · 03/02/2021 12:03

Have I missed recipes, again?!

How disappointing.

testingmitb · 03/02/2021 12:10

Was that the thread with the Tragic Mushroom?

Someone posted a tablet recipe, anyone care to share as I have a mind to make some.
