Nope, you need some fat to go with the sugar. Add almost a whole pack of butter and a can of condensed milk so that it is tooth achingly sweet as well as likely to give you a heart attack.

If grating pastry seems too odd, I push mine through the mesh of my cooling rack. Very useful for crumble and crunchy toppings.

I have a nice celeriac recipe that renders it pretty edible. It involves beer, I'll post it if I find it, it's a Nigel Slater one.
