Eddie Izzard states he has both 'girl and boy' GENETICS?

Story released today quotes Izzard as saying they have both girl and boy genetics? What the actual hell? I'm lost for words. What fantasy planet are they living on? Hope no-one, especially children, reading this actually believes this is possible.

Is Eddie a Chimera? It is possible to have some XX and some XY cells...rare, but possible.

Actually a study of transwomens genetics would make a nice masters or PhD for someone. See if there is any correlation of sex chromosome disorders with trans identity.

Study has already been done to prove absolute!y no link with DSD conditions and transgender people. Using so called " intersex" conditions to explain gender identity is ableist and exploitative. Eddie Izzard should know better than this.

Thanks. I did wonder but cba to literature search and funnily enough there’s no mention of any study in all the TRA stuff so not surprised it’s a negative link.

I think the sef ID issue with ethnicity and disablity are viewed differently though (so far at least). For example if you are mixed-race you might choose to identify as black (or asian or native american etc), or as mixed-race, or as white, depending on a number of things. It does not (so far) mean you can be white and identify as black as a statement of your inner feelings, while knowing you are not black at all - in other words "trans-black". Or you can, and people do, but there is open condemnation of that, rather being expected to admire it.

But there are already people doing the trans-disabled thing and trying to disable themselves - and that is being questioned.

Though maybe the whole concept of trans self ID in all kinds of areas will extend so far that that will become one of the various ways in which it trans ideology eats itself and is consigned to history.

I feel Eddie is not only offensive to women but also anyone with a dsd.

"Conclusion
Routine molecular karyotyping of 128 children and adolescents presenting with suspected GD failed to detect any occult DSD and indicated that the rate of CNVs was similar to that of the general population. We therefore suggest that molecular karyotyping has minimal clinical utility in the routine management of GD."

I think that a feminist philosopher explored the concept of "transracialism"- but it resulted in a whole massive scandal and people losing their jobs: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypatia_transracialism_controversy
I think that the article was probably referring to people like: Rachel Dolezal, Jessica Krug and possibly Martina Big (although Martina big / Malaika Kubwa went through extensive body modifications). Those individuals would be regarded as gross cultural appropriation and offensive.

Apologies- my post seems a bit random, I was partly replying to @HerselfIndoors, but then realised that I'd veered off course.

I think that there'd been a case in America of a politician believing sincerely that she had native American grandparents/ great grandparents, but was found on DNA test not to: www.google.com/amp/s/www.wsj.com/amp/articles/elizabeth-warren-again-apologizes-after-release-of-native-american-ancestry-link-11566241904

I’ve said this before, but I think it would be wonderful if there was a genetic marker* for identifying trans, that way all the speculation could be taken out of it. And given there is a significant lack of funding for this as a research project, I think Eddie should run marathons to raise money for it.

*there isn’t, and there won’t be, and if there was there are definitely some people who won’t be too keen to queue up for it.

I wonder if someone is doing that study?
