I guess that's one way to normalise pedophillia 🤢 disgusting

lionheart · 06/01/2021 13:06

Mind boggling.

Had to check the date, reads like an April fools.

sharonelizabeth · 06/01/2021 13:07

Oh god, I’ve seen it all now 😩

gamerchick · 06/01/2021 13:07

Well it's not tom and jerry is it?! Mind boggles.

lionheart · 06/01/2021 13:08

I had to check the date too.

“The show depicts a man who is impulsive and not always in control, who makes mistakes – like kids do, but crucially, Dillermand always makes it right. He takes responsibility for his actions. When a woman in the show tells him that he should keep his penis in his pants, for instance, he listens. Which is nice. He is accountable.”

Instead of penis, why not his hair? or his nose? or a little finger?
Why, his penis?

Boundary battering, that's why.

LangClegTheBeardedVulture · 06/01/2021 13:16

Me too. WTF.
"A man who cannot control his penis" is NOT funny.

midgebabe · 06/01/2021 13:16

Apparently they could have just as easily made this story focus on a vulva... but didn't

NonnyMouse1337 · 06/01/2021 13:27

Have children's TV programmes run out of age appropriate topics?! Confused

Sounds like grooming in plain sight.

HecatesCats · 06/01/2021 13:34

Look forward to the anti-women/mumsnet brigade explaining why this is FINE.

MichelleofzeResistance · 06/01/2021 13:37

Poor adult male with no control over his penis and apparently no awareness of social boundaries, but yippee isn't it lovely he's accountable when a woman tells him to put it away?

No. It fucking isn't. Are you mad?

Fgs, these men with their problems and their endless wankery trying to justify ramming their bodily parts in everyone else's faces. Most five year olds have managed to learn this stuff successfully and move on.

lionheart · 06/01/2021 13:39

'DR responded to the latest criticism by saying it could just as easily have made a programme “about a woman with no control over her vagina” and that the most important thing was that children enjoyed John Dillermand.'

I was going to quote this exact section. So a man who can't control his penis suddenly can when asked to. So in fact its a man who doesn't want to control his penis. Ha. Ha. Ha. Hmm
MoltenLasagne · 06/01/2021 13:41

Also, if they could have "just as easily" made it about a woman who couldn't control her vagina vulva, then why didn't they?

lionheart · 06/01/2021 13:42

What would an out of control 'vagina' look like exactly?

OP posts:
MichelleofzeResistance · 06/01/2021 13:49

It'd have huge, pointed teeth like in that horror film, and it would eat any wandery bits of Dillermand before he could see how children enjoyed him.

Theunamedcat · 06/01/2021 15:24

I knew this was going to be about penis man seriously WTH

WagnersFourthSymphony · 06/01/2021 16:47

The out-of-control vagina would have been like a vacuum cleaner. Obvs. Dirty dishes, washing, beards, homework, Lego... Mrs TidyUp. Shock Angry

ArabellaScott · 06/01/2021 16:50

fucking ridic.

ArabellaScott · 06/01/2021 16:53

Ha! It would hoover up Mr Dillermand and SUCK up the patriarchy, gnashing it with its vulva dentata before spitting it out like so much used chewing gum. Smile

I like this one better. Let's write Mrs HugeVag. It'll be like Sheela-Na-Gig but louder.

MichelleofzeResistance · 06/01/2021 16:55

Arabella I would watch that programme. Or movie. That's a superhero I could get behind.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 06/01/2021 16:59

And anyone trying to sexualize a character whose name means Mr Penis is the bad person. Not the person who imagined kids laughing and wanting to interact with a man with a roving penis.

I mean Rapunzel was bad enough, with her long her that pretended to be a fucking ladder....

WagnersFourthSymphony · 06/01/2021 17:22

Has anyone seen this programme? Must admit I'm curious. I can imagine small children, or at least some of them, would find it hilarious. The very idea gives me the ick, though, normalising or making light of Dillermand's behaviour.

When a woman in the show tells him that he should keep his penis in his pants, for instance, he listens. Which is nice. He is accountable.

So does this woman in the show come across as a scold, a killjoy, the boring bossy person who polices societal norms - or is she also a warm person who does useful things and has a character of her own?

CigarsofthePharoahs · 06/01/2021 17:24

How many people would have been involved making this? How many people saw this and went "OK, this is good TV for kids."
(baffled face)
