What is "Girl Mode"

A non question for actual women. What is "girl mode"?
To me it's a very youth orientated fetishy definition which feels a bit like My Little Pony.

I stopped calling myself a girl at the point I hit around 20 I think. I dont think of myself as a girl, I think of myself as a woman, especially once I had children.

I think it's odd to describe yourself as a girl if you are a middle aged man. I'm trying to imagine an older woman describing herself as being in "boy mode" and all I can think of is Jimmy Krankee.

I haven't the foggiest what girl mode is, but it seems to be a state that's only reported by adult males.

Loving the mental images prompted by this typo though: we smile croqettishly Grin

Eddie's twitter bio just looks exactly like Eddie looked when Eddie was just a male comedian who wore lippie.
There is a photo of Eddie floating round where Eddie's hair is slightly longer and is wearing more make up.

I just can't see what Eddie thinks Eddie is achieving. We were so behind the "not women's clothes, they're my clothes" line and I haven't heard of Eddie suffering any assaults because of Eddie's appearance...
Now Eddie is claiming to be a male lesbian?

Such a let down.

Isn't it utterly amazing that Eddie Izzard can switch out of girl mode when s/he's in Hollywood and cast as a cis male serial killer in 'Hannibal'. I wish I could do that, it would be well handy for avoiding rapists and getting paid more at work.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 30/12/2020 12:58

There’s no such thing though is there?

It’s like ‘the game’ - if you have to think it, you’ve lost.

DrizzleandDamp · 30/12/2020 13:02

This is just making me think of all those gross men from OLD that start messages with “are you a naughty/dirty girl”.

There is nothing innocent in it the perverted. Fuckers. Delete me if necessary!

JohnMcClane · 30/12/2020 13:04

Well we know what it is but we're not allowed to talk about it here. 🙊

NeurotreeWenceslas · 30/12/2020 13:08

Head tilt.

Melroses · 30/12/2020 13:09

I always thought it was "Girlie" as in magazines.

TheSockMonster · 30/12/2020 13:11

No idea, but reminds me of the innocent underage girl porn trope. All wide eyed passivity and helplessness.

Definitely ‘girl’ as a role to be played rather than a description of a human female under the age of 18.

MrsFogi · 30/12/2020 13:13

It is misogynistic, sexist, fetishising with big hairy bollocks swinging about.
No man should be able to claim they are in "girl mode" unless it is also okay for people to claim they are in "[insert age] mode", [insert ethnic group] mode, [insert animal] mode, [insert level of beauty] mode, [insert level of intelligence] mode" etc etc and everyone around them applaud and unquestioningly accept them for whatever mode they claim to be in that day.

TinselAngel · 30/12/2020 13:21

I think it's a type of transition which retains the option of slipping back into "boy mode", whenever it is financially beneficial to do so.

persistentwoman · 30/12/2020 13:22

Otherwise known as "narcissist mode"

Flapjak · 30/12/2020 13:33

Mattell should a ken doll with girl mode , option of removable penis. Kit involves gold handbag, wig and lipstick.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 30/12/2020 13:39

So it’s a choice to present oneself in a sexist and possibly sexualised ‘ikkle girl’ child mode? Like the personage in Canada ?

JohnMcClane · 30/12/2020 13:40

Lets not beat about the bush. This is a certain individual forcing others to participate in their kink, which lets be honest they have form for.

twinkletoedelephant · 30/12/2020 13:40

:58ThatIsNotMyUsername dam you I've been winning fir ages

jay55 · 30/12/2020 13:40

Surely when Eddie was a young man, glam rock and then New Romantics were all the rage and he could have played with all the makeup and glitter he wanted without many batting an eye.

I think young men born in the 90s have had far less opportunity for experimentation than those born in the 50s-80s.

CatsCantCatchChristmas2 · 30/12/2020 13:49

Jimmy Krankee!

Fucking priceless! I love it here.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 30/12/2020 13:50

Please don’t mention the crankies... need the brain bleach now. Thanks guys...

MondayYogurt · 30/12/2020 13:54

@despairenting

It's when men get all giggly and enjoy skirts that go spinny and make-up and glitter and such things. It has nothing to do with actual womanhood and they can very much enjoy those things without claiming to be female, if they so wish.
Confirmed.

Vermeil · 30/12/2020 13:55

I’ve no longer got any tits or ovaries because being female nearly killed me, but I am wearing a dress today, so..? 🤷‍♀️

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 30/12/2020 13:58

For me, girl mode is choosing to dress in clothes that most women would burn (although it wouldn’t burn - it would melt), complete with letterbox red lipstick on their little letterbox mouths and giggling coquettishly.

It also means that they keep the jewels in case a lucrative job comes a calling and they need to switch back to boy mode sharpish.

It is also a chance to use the Emperor’s new pronouns.

One would wonder what kind of entertainment they watch to choose to be in girl mode rather than woman mode.

UppityPuppity · 30/12/2020 14:01

Girl mode is perv mode.

We all know it. That’s why it is so popular.

Delete me too...

FunkBus · 30/12/2020 14:05

If any famous woman looked as rough as Eddie does in that photo upthread, she'd never work again.
