To be fair to the Tories, we're about to leave the EU and soon they can no longer use the EU as their scapegoat to blame for their own decisions. The logical next choice for them is the Labour party - they've been doing it since they got into power after all.

It's a shame that Labour are too busy self-identifying as the party of the working-class left to actually be that party.

Most of this thread is nonsense, assuming that a Tory Minister really cares about women's rights because she claimed she did...whilst also claiming a lot of other things that are manifestly untrue.

But Charlotte Nichols refusing to meet GC women to discuss women's rights while defending Izzard is much more worrying.

I think anyone hanging their hat on Starmer being a friend to women and playing the long game is going to be sorely disappointed.

Nah I stopped feeling disappointed a while ago. Sore - yes possibly. But if I had to put words to the way I flip flop over Starmer and the Labour Party I would say it was more akin to stalking an ex on Facebook.

I hwve been going through Charlotte Nicholls twitter thread. She is quite a prolific tweeter and re tweeter and I got to 17 December before I got bored.

I could not see a single tweet that she wrote which mentions the word woman. How incredibly depressing.

I'd say she's more of a feminist than the shadow women & eq minister who doesn't appear to know what a woman is. She's being pretty shrewd because she can see there are women abandoned by the other political parties and she's reaching out. I am still waiting for Labour to come up with something, anything, rational on this issue, but in the meantime checking out the SDP. I say good for Liz Truss and I hope her interventions will push all parties towards a more fact based approach (although I fear the greens are a lost cause).
