Toller, I won't go into detail as it's a bit outing, but I used to work in a field that meant I worked with a lot of people in the BDSM/kink community. Some lovely people, some very odd people, some damaged people.

I don't know if that's useful, but I thought it might give a bit of context and reassure you that you are definitely not being prudish to be concerned about children/young people being introduced to this. I am far from prudish; this stuff should NOT ever be within a million miles of a school or children/young people. Just no.

I would be asking lots of questions about who exactly is bringing this material into the school, who is supporting it, and why? I would be making a very loud noise and continuing to do so until all the questions had been very clearly answered. There should not be any qualms from the school about doing so, seeing as they are so keen on fostering openness and dialogue on the subject. TBH I would probably also be making a loud noise to the press, but understandable if you don't want to do that.

I was so annoyed that he was on the final episode when I'd thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the series.

Eddie being "gender fluid but based in girl mode" reminded me of :

I once knew a late transitioning MtF (in their mid-60s) who said the girlishness (in their case dressing up much younger than their years and going out for the evening with a group of young women) was to make up for the girlhood they never had. At the time we just accepted it, though I would look at it very differently now.

I have enjoyed the series and generally agreed with the winner of each but this final was depressing. Sally and Kofi didn’t do anything like as well as they have shown they can do which makes me wonder about what the atmosphere was like on that edition - both their portraits were somehow quite lifeless. I really thought Kofi would do it. Curtis is a one trick pony with quirk over substance which was always going to appeal to the judges.

I was a bit shocked by Eddie’s barely suppressed bad tempered reaction to his portraits- most of the previous sitters have tried to find something positive to say about even the most unflattering ones of them. He clearly hated the realistic ( though still quite flattering ) versions - maybe because they were so at odds at what he thinks everyone is seeing when they look at him. Curtis’s version was ethereal and looked nothing like him so I’m not surprised it’s the one Eddie chose.

@Tollergirl....might be worth doing a new thread on this, either in this folder or another one. Other parents might be aware of their children seeing the same video. I agree, depending on the actual content (and you're right to want to know more about it before coming down like a ton of bricks on the school) this is unlikely to be suitable for school viewing. Niche sexual paraphilias like this in PSE classes? WTF?
