Sounds positively awful 🤤 (What are the quantities)

It's shocking. And ought to be disgusting but really isn't in a very louche kind of way.

Tablespoon of butter, be generous. Smaller tbs of brown sugar, adjust to taste. Good shake of cinnamon and ginger. Mash the whole lot into a paste. Add boiling water, stir until dissolved. Add slug of whisky, size to taste.

Tis evil I tell you. Happy sigh.

Winesalot · 28/12/2020 10:12

Chili chocolate is the best!! (But not chilli con carne chocolate, that would have been a shocker)

And hot chocolate with chilli is awesome.

But I also love elderflower and pepper sorbet. And strawberries and pepper.

PotholeParadies · 28/12/2020 10:55

I have been repeatedly given chilli chocolate for Christmas. I dutifully and (wo)manfully plough my way through it but it's really just good chocolate ruined.

MaudTheInvincible · 28/12/2020 11:14

My mum gave me marmite chocolate once Xmas Sad

SophocIestheFox · 28/12/2020 11:15

Chilli con carne cake - boak! It’s making me think of Alan Partidges chicken drizzle cake 🤣 and it’s a no from me on chilli chocolate and buttered whisky.

I’m still eating fucking Christmas leftovers, I way overcatered. Can’t face any more soggy old roasties, I might sneak them into the dogs bowl and pretend to the waste-deploring husband that we ate them all already.

You really need to report that on the 'Thornton's are the worst chocolate gift' thread.

Marmite cashews are gorgeous but putting it in chocolate is perverse.

Winesalot · 28/12/2020 11:32

There was a special edition Cadbury’s vegemite. You either love it or hate it. As a vegemite lover, I like the first bite and then quickly hated it. But many people loved it.

I, personally, also hate any form of peanut paste and jam. However you call it or make it.

boatyardblues · 28/12/2020 11:45

I was suckered by a special edition Marmite peanut butter recently. It sounds like it should work. It doesn’t. None of us like it, despite all loving peanut butter and Marmite, and I can’t even use it up in peanut butter cookies. Like the PP said about chilli chocolate, it’s good peanut butter ruined.

everythingthelighttouches · 28/12/2020 15:16

Late to the “feminist yoof” thread today and funnily enough my immediate reaction was to go off to the kitchen to make myself a drink!

a little bottle of armangnac {now considering adding melted butter}...

I’d love it one day if one of those threads popped up and NO ONE responded. Not one.

ArabellaScott · 28/12/2020 16:22

Highly disappointed by 'chocolate' peanut butter recently, which just tasted like slightly funny peanuts.

Also not impressed with the crisp aisle lately - sprout and parsnip stuffing flavour, strawberry shower gel and steak flavour, buttered snail and horse testicle, etc.

InterfectoremVulpes · 28/12/2020 16:38

Quite often when you combine 2 things the taste of the resulting product is inversely proportionate to the deliciousness of the 2 things.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 28/12/2020 16:42

Whereas rather surprisingly, honey-and-Marmite on toast is rather good, if extremely sticky. Apparently this may be true even if you dislike Marmite or dislike honey, which I find remarkable.

I feel like I bang on about it all the time, but a goady OP being left unanswered to gather tumbleweed would be the most delicious thing. Scroll on by...
WiltingAtTreadmills · 28/12/2020 17:07

Btw I love Marmite but Marmite chocolate is disgusting and I assume Marmite peanut butter would be nearly as bad.

Wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 28/12/2020 17:08

Marmite butter is an abomination.

Wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 28/12/2020 17:09

*peanut butter

MedusasBadHairDay · 28/12/2020 17:25

I find it hard to avoid answering clearly goady OPs, so the hide thread option is so useful

HecatesCats · 28/12/2020 17:35

Didn't see the tail end of the discussion about a certain US celebrity's identity turning out to be false, but it's gone from FWR while a discussion on a different board on the same subject remains. What's that all about?

WiltingAtTreadmills · 28/12/2020 17:40

Sarcasm isn't becoming, I would imagine. Tbf threads about individuals often get pulled so I don't know if the other one will stay.
Deliriumoftheendless · 28/12/2020 17:45

@NeurotreeWenceslas

I made a chilli chocolate cake once.

Except I used the wrong "chilli."

Merrily baked a cake that was especially chilli con carne.

Did you bake it for Joey Tribbiani?
HecatesCats · 28/12/2020 17:48

Tbf threads about individuals often get pulled so I don't know if the other one will stay.

That's what I was wondering about, why they hadn't both gone.

MichelleofzeResistance · 28/12/2020 18:58

No one will have reported the other one, as it's not on a stalked board.

WiltingAtTreadmills · 29/12/2020 00:10

KLAXON! We have a candidate, please can you give me my Christmas tumbleweed dream?

WiltingAtTreadmills · 29/12/2020 00:10

(i.e. no responses)

WiltingAtTreadmills · 29/12/2020 00:12

Oh, too late Sad
