Snowballs! Omg yes pleasemy parents didn’t think they were alcoholic and used to give them to me when I was a wee sprog. Yum.

Same here 🤣

General point:

I am so sick of a certain kind of man hanging out in a forum explicitly focused on women's rights just to be horrible to women.

What kind of person does that, or has the time for it? Women don't tend to do this stuff, to turn up on 'men's rights' forums to lecture the men. Men get a kick out of it and boast about it.

Thelnebriati · 19/12/2020 21:07

I'm surprised they haven't found it yet, obviously I'm not a medical expert but if I was I'd tell them to look for the brightest blue area in the blue brains.

CoffeeTeaChocolate · 19/12/2020 21:09

The worst thing is, most men wouldn’t do that. The majority of men wouldn’t impose on women’s spaces, try to participate in women’s sports or even dream of trying to get into women’s changing rooms. The men who try to do that are exactly the ones we need to keep out. Regardless of how they identify.

Winesalot · 19/12/2020 21:13

They show us exactly who they are again and again. They cannot see what gives them away.

YY. Again it's quite the tell. Not just the gender identity crew either, MRAs and random sad blokes generally.

@DaisiesandButtercups

My DC are crazy for bagels but I have never tried baking my own.

Did they turn out well Tartrazine?

Daisies, they turned out very well if I do say so myself. I like lots of sesame seeds so I gave 'em a good dredge between the boiling and baking stages, and they were gratifyingly toasty & nutty as a result.
ArabellaScott · 19/12/2020 22:38

Well, seeing as xmas is cancelled, I'm going to make lebkuchen.

Winesalot · 19/12/2020 22:40

We are going to attempt this in the coming week. Any hints please?
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/12/2020 22:58

Friend says, wet hands when shaping dough and line the bluddy baking trays.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/12/2020 22:59

(She will be making some for us tomorrow; she lives alone and is our bubble, and lucky us is what I say because she is an ace cook.)

ArabellaScott · 19/12/2020 23:06

It's been a while since I made it - I think trad recipes call for the dough to be left for a day or two before baking. Which suits me, as a lazy cook.

Winesalot · 19/12/2020 23:16

These are good hints. Thanks.

DaisiesandButtercups · 20/12/2020 07:27

Wow Tartrazine that sounds delicious!

I like sesame seeds too but I am sure you know how DC can be... I would have to go for plain.

Boiling and dredging prior to baking, sounds like it might take some practise to get them just right!

CatsCantCatchCriminals2 · 20/12/2020 08:38

Off to google "lebkuchen"...

(I have learnt/discovered so much on this board xx)

Winesalot · 20/12/2020 08:42

cats

Nurnberger Lebkuchen is one of our families all time Christmas treats. That and rumballs!

ErrolTheDragon · 20/12/2020 08:44

You don't have to put the same topping on all of them. Sesame some of them and that will ensure you get your fair share.Grin

ArabellaScott · 20/12/2020 08:56

Lebkuchen is the bomb. We used to get them as an incredibly rare xmas treat as a child and I was over 40 before I realised it was possible to make them yourself. Smile

Winesalot · 20/12/2020 09:01

Ah damn. Just about to post and poof!! Gone. Obviously not allowed to be upset some revered women are not quite like the others... nor is any UK activist that solely focuses on women’s right.... but there is room for a fictional woman too!

PopperUppleton · 21/12/2020 09:30

Ooo there's one to leave well alone! It would be fab if nobody responded at all

Winesalot · 21/12/2020 09:32

What a great way to start the week.? The nasty feminists at local tesco.

Schools out.

BrassicaRabbit · 21/12/2020 09:33

I know! Imagine feeling entitled to some outrage and receiving nothing. The equivalent at laughing at the local flasher's pathetically small dick.

Also you can make lebkuchen?! Shock

ArabellaScott · 21/12/2020 09:41

Bugger it Brassica, you've just reminded me I left the dough in the fridge!

PotholeParadies · 21/12/2020 09:50

Did anyone respond? I saw it at 0 and.left it there.

DaisiesandButtercups · 21/12/2020 10:08

Very true Errol!
