Wonder what the rationale is for 80 though?

My understanding for civil court case* is that 100% is very rare. You are expected to fund a reasonable case and you get costs awarded for having to go beyond that.

*only one that I was involved in which should never have got as far as court, but some people will argue up is down - tend to keep away from courts Smile

HecatesCats · 01/12/2020 12:13

Children. They've been experimenting on children.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 01/12/2020 12:14

@ThatIsNotMyUsername - sorry, what is the "lush bombshell" - I'm not in the UK and have missed it

Yes, who benefits... Who is earning ££££. Who is salving their own conscience...

queenofknives · 01/12/2020 12:15

Brilliant result. The judgement makes for shocking reading. Unbelievable that so many people supported these medical experiments on children. I hope now more young people will feel able to come forward and pursue claims against the tavistock and gender doctors.

Lush , purveyor of overpriced overperfumed bath products, woker than woke, gave a few thousand to WPUK Grin

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 01/12/2020 12:18

Ah thumb it was too delicious. The WPUK released their accounts and what’s this? A donation from Lush (UK?).

A bit of tantrumming on twitter. Demands to know if this hideous fact was truth or damned womanly lies. Howls of ‘then I will have to return my already bought Christmas presents!!!’ And ‘why are they lying???’

Crocodile eating the bath bombs. It always happens.

SunsetBeetch · 01/12/2020 12:19

Feel almost teary. Well done Keira, you brave young woman!

Lush are bigmouths, saying people wearing an 'adult human female' t shirt are not welcome in their shops, had signs up saying 'No transphobes' (by which they mean people who think women should have rights too.) Really aligning themselves with TRAs.

But WPUK shared how they're funded, and they'd received money from Lush. TRAs see WPUK as anti-trans hate group, so in their eyes Lush are pretending to support trans rights whilst funding the devil.

Twas delicious.

@nauticant

Can you open the link in a private or incognito browser MaudTheInvincible? (Although maybe you're on a mobile.)
Read the archive instead, thanks Grin I'm lazy (and thank you for the archive link Betty)
Thingybob · 01/12/2020 12:26

@Tannins

With all that the judgement details - the response of the fox hater is to promote children buying the drugs on the dark web and funding private treatment outside the country? Oh my....
And Gender GP responds to the tweet to advertise their service
StillAHarpie · 01/12/2020 12:27

Well done Kiera and everyone else involved in this case Flowers

Hopefully now it will be easier for lesbian girls and gay boys to say ‘I’m gay deal with it’ and boys to be able to embrace their desire to wear more flamboyant clothes and girls to be not interested in fripperies if they want without being transed.

thereplycamefromanchorage · 01/12/2020 12:27

Will rtft later but just popping on to say amazing news. Congratulations Keira!

Shedbuilder · 01/12/2020 12:29

I notice that Jolyon Maugham is saying this will just drive parents and children to buy drugs on the dark net or abroad — presumably from people like the Webberleys. How can it be legal for parents to buy drugs that are strictly controlled here and give them to their children? Surely that's abusive?

Quite.

This thread is moving fast!

LizzieSiddal · 01/12/2020 12:31

My goodness, I've just seen this- I cried! It's actually happened.

Thank You SO Much Keira! You are a blooming STAR!

nauticant · 01/12/2020 12:32

The updated list of counterfactuals:

  • "We never said born in the wrong body or if we did we didn't mean it"
  • "The Keira Bell case changes nothing, consent was required before, consent is required now"
  • "Lifesaving medical treatment"
  • "We never said there was no such thing as biological sex. But it IS on a spectrum....."
  • "Treatment is safe and fully reversible but there is an extreme risk of harm if sudden withdrawal of treatment"
  • "Cis people fancy the opposite sex"
  • "No, it's not possible that homophobia is a factor"
MammothMashup · 01/12/2020 12:32

Thank you archivers! I'm rubbish at it and always end up going round in circles.

Which pharmacy operating under UK law will continue to fulfil prescriptions for under 16s after this judgment?

At this point there are now clear liability issues surely?

HermioneWeasley · 01/12/2020 12:33

@ThatIsNotMyUsername what was the Lush bombshell?

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 01/12/2020 12:33

#IStandWithKeiraBell is the hashtag which is trending.

This tide's been turning for a while.

BeUpStanding · 01/12/2020 12:33

Yes yes yes yes! Omigod I am so incredibly relieved, I even shedded a tear when I saw Kiera won. This is the best news possible Star
