They're gunning for Joanna Cherry now...

For donating to Sarah Phillimore's crowdfunder 🙄

twitter.com/joannaccherry/status/1332668158516342784

An open letter, signed by MP's, was circulating calling for an investigation into some MP's ''transphobia''. Lots of dragging Joanna Cherry through the mud ensued. Donating to Sarah Phillimore's crowdfunder is allegedly an MP ''funding hate'' and needs investigating, along with Christopher McEleny for pointing out that there were no transphobic murders in Scotland. That apparently undermines trans day of remembrance...I'd say the fact that there were 0 transphobic murders in Scotland is the thing that undermines that, but what do I know?🤷‍♀️

Some people who signed the letter shat themselves afterwards and asked for the bullshit parts to be removed from it after they'd already bloody signed it. The original letter has now been edited. Not because it was bollocks though, oh no, but because this is a 'common tactic' of those that oppose trans people. (Nah mates, it's people waking up and getting sick of your lies and propaganda).

Sarah has written a letter to the Scottish Green Party, the Scottish Liberal Democrats and the SNP asking for an urgent investigation and reply, being as members of the SNP signed the letter, and she is now receiving the usual sexual threats and threats of violence as a result, from the right side of history brigade.

Here's Sarah's letter which explains it all better than me.

I'm so sick of these toxic, controlling brats.

@Tootsweets23

The two halves of the SNP tearing each other apart. Imagine what the Scottish political scene would be like post independence once that single issue stops binding such different factions together. Will be a bloodbath on this and so many other issues.
If this were to cause a schism in the SNP and make them unelectable I would be delighted.
Wbeezer · 29/11/2020 23:20

@RedtreesRedtrees maybe because the point was poorly made? Have you heard of Godwin's Law? Bringing the Nazis up is never the sign of an effective argument (and is bound to be inflammatory but I suspect that probably your aim).

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/11/2020 23:23

We could argue about the bigot thing but I just can’t be bothered

I'm sure you'll do it as successfully as you've made all your other arguments on FWR.

Wbeezer · 29/11/2020 23:25

I repeat redtrees was just referencing a comedy meme, probably to wind you up, dont over think it.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/11/2020 23:25

Well I recognised it but not everyone spends too much time watching old comedy on YouTube, I don't think recognising it is a mark of intellect or seriousness.

I know the sketch but I didn't recognise that was what RT meant from the obscure reference.

SunsetBeetch · 30/11/2020 07:23

Not everyone lives their life through internet memes, Redtrees.

Do you not see David Challenor as a 'baddy' then, or all the party members who have bullied and hounded others such as Rosie Duffield? Funny how you only honed in on one of my points.

Go to any twitter thread where this issue comes up, and tell me you don't see all the ordinary SNP members/voters begging them to stop as this issue is splitting the party.

Wbeezer · 30/11/2020 07:28

I dont think communicating clearly is RTs top priority.

SunsetBeetch · 30/11/2020 07:59

@Wbeezer

I dont think communicating clearly is RTs top priority.
Mmmn-huh.
SophocIestheFox · 30/11/2020 08:03

Yeah, I didn’t get it either, despite knowing the sketch. Googling skulls on caps didn’t help me out either, as I then concluded that she was, rather obscurely, saying you were Jewish littl. Which didn’t make any sense at all in the context. I don’t think you’re a very clear communicator, redtrees, but sure, go ahead and make out like we’re just too dim and humourless to appreciate your rapier wit.

Anyway, completely agree that it feels like being in the upside down to feel like Wings Over Scotland has a convincing argument.

I’d like to return to the original point of the thread, but I’m honestly now confused about who signed what, and what they believed they were signing when they did Confused

Whatwouldyoydo · 30/11/2020 08:06

Who cares what redtrees thinks or means 🤷‍♀️

Aesopfable · 30/11/2020 08:13

So either a bunch of MSPs signed a letter, which could foreseeable result in putting women in danger, and libelling them and now are trying to distance themselves. Or an obscure BBC actor acted fraudulently adding their name to the letter. Either way the letter was then rewritten despite this meaning the people who put their name to the original letter now had their name attached to a letter they didn’t sign.

Sexnotgender · 30/11/2020 08:30

@RedtreesRedtrees

We could argue about the bigot thing but I just can’t be bothered. The point is that you do have a political home amongst the fringe parties where you belong.
😂😂😂

I love this. Could have predicted it a mile away.

Such a pathetic response.

Paisley's been on one again Hmm

"I was falsely accused of defamation by
@joannaccherry
yesterday over the below tweet.

Defamation can only exist where a statement is untrue.

I asked why Cherry had donated to a legal fund for Sarah Phillimore of Fair Cop, who many people feel are a hate group. She didn't reply."

I can’t see Paisely tweets. Blocked. I must be on a list

Yes I think he has a big old block list. Sorry, didn't think of that.
SunsetBeetch · 30/11/2020 10:38

Using that Fair Cop tweet as evidence they are a hate group is plain ridiculous. Do they really believe what they are saying?? Idiots.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 30/11/2020 10:44

It was a spectacularly misguided hashtag and sentiment to express, knowing how social media works, but in no way "proves" that they are a transphobic hate group. It's a statement about even strong negative feelings about people or groups not being a police matter in and of themselves.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 30/11/2020 10:45

Who cares what redtrees thinks or means

Well, exactly.

SunsetBeetch · 30/11/2020 10:45

Christ he's even putting emojis at the end of his tweets like Harrop.

littlbrowndog · 30/11/2020 10:45

That Paisely guy was in a twitter convo with the head of amnesty Ireland

Backing each other up

What do women’s rights have to do with either of them ?

Saw Lesley riddoch was surprised at the FM half hearted support of joanna cherry on radio Scotland

7Days · 30/11/2020 10:46

The pomposity of it.
He's an actor isnt he?

If you like old comedy references, I can just picture him proclaiming in grief how he shall never play the Dane ...

Ereshkigalangcleg · 30/11/2020 10:47

He is a worthy successor to Harrop, the role of obsessive male trans ally who takes pride in punishing noncompliant women was going spare.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 30/11/2020 10:47

The SNP is a one-issue party and so it's members have a wide range of beliefs and priorities, only united by the ambition of having an independent Scotland. Despite that, they have been an effective political force.

I do wonder what might happen if a party was formed around the single issue of protecting women's rights. There are some very bright and powerful women fighting for us, if they were able to join forces we could have a Dream Team.

Baroness Nicholson is forming something - wouldn't it be amazing if she could create a cross party group with Joanna Cherry, Joan McAlpine, Rosie Duffield, Jackie Price Doyle and Liz Truss - and who else?

Wbeezer · 30/11/2020 11:18

@Ereshkigalangcleg

Who cares what redtrees thinks or means

Well, exactly.

I only explained because @littlbrowndog seemed to need an explanation, not to give credence to RT.
