For donating to Sarah Phillimore's crowdfunder 🙄

twitter.com/joannaccherry/status/1332668158516342784

An open letter, signed by MP's, was circulating calling for an investigation into some MP's ''transphobia''. Lots of dragging Joanna Cherry through the mud ensued. Donating to Sarah Phillimore's crowdfunder is allegedly an MP ''funding hate'' and needs investigating, along with Christopher McEleny for pointing out that there were no transphobic murders in Scotland. That apparently undermines trans day of remembrance...I'd say the fact that there were 0 transphobic murders in Scotland is the thing that undermines that, but what do I know?🤷‍♀️

Some people who signed the letter shat themselves afterwards and asked for the bullshit parts to be removed from it after they'd already bloody signed it. The original letter has now been edited. Not because it was bollocks though, oh no, but because this is a 'common tactic' of those that oppose trans people. (Nah mates, it's people waking up and getting sick of your lies and propaganda).

Sarah has written a letter to the Scottish Green Party, the Scottish Liberal Democrats and the SNP asking for an urgent investigation and reply, being as members of the SNP signed the letter, and she is now receiving the usual sexual threats and threats of violence as a result, from the right side of history brigade.

Here's Sarah's letter which explains it all better than me.

I'm so sick of these toxic, controlling brats.

What does skull on your cap mean redtrees?

RedtreesRedtrees · 29/11/2020 22:23

Nothing to do with funding. A PP had said something to the effect that GC women have no political home. That’s not true. There will be parties out there, probably left and right, who will share or at least tolerate your views and agenda.

Wbeezer · 29/11/2020 22:23

Re "skull on cap"
Its a reference to a comedy sketch where one SS officer turns to another and ask "Are we the baddies?", pointing out the skull on their caps as evidence.
With what's happening in all the parties mentioned by a PP, i keep thinking of the phrase " letting the tail wag the dog", not a wise or sustainable policy imo.

littlbrowndog · 29/11/2020 22:26

Well I asked redtrees to explain and still not sure if this was a personal attack to me ?

Thanks for your explanation wbeezer

Redtrees what were you saying to me ?

MaudTheInvincible · 29/11/2020 22:35

I dunno Wbeezer, seems much more likely they were likening Joanna Cherry and all the other women who are objecting to this ideological incursion, to the nazis.

Passmeabottlemrjones · 29/11/2020 22:35

RedtreesRedtrees

Is that really all you have got?

If I were in your position, I would ask myself whether it's more likely that a large proportion of traditionally left leaning, liberal women have unexplainably suddenly become rabid far right 'bigots' for no apparent reason, or whether it's more likely that it might be me who is missing something?

I could ask you some fairly basic questions that I'm pretty sure you won't be able to answer, but I don't think it's worth my time to be honest.

littlbrowndog · 29/11/2020 22:36

I reported to mumsnet

And asked them to clarify what the skull on cap means

Wbeezer · 29/11/2020 22:41

I wouldnt put it past them but that sketch (Mitchell & Webb) is commonly used as a meme to point out to people that they are "on the wrong side of history".

RedtreesRedtrees · 29/11/2020 22:42

Honestly when you lot respond like this to a Mitchell and Webb reference it’s hardly surprising that no one takes you seriously.

RedtreesRedtrees · 29/11/2020 22:43

And you really had to ask Mumsnet for the reference? 😂

HighHeelBoots · 29/11/2020 22:44

RedtreesRedtrees
You are a horrible racist
I don't have to do anything to prove this opinion. I just know you are bigoted and racist

littlbrowndog · 29/11/2020 22:44

But wbeeezer if you don’t know what it means like me then how can you know.

I don’t know who Mitchell and Webb are tbh

I did google it and they never came up just stuff well there was stuff in urban dictionary’ eek.

And other stuff.

So is it an insult do you think ?

HighHeelBoots · 29/11/2020 22:45

Of course, trying to defend yourself just proves how bigoted and racist you are

Wbeezer · 29/11/2020 22:46

Well I recognised it but not everyone spends too much time watching old comedy on YouTube, I don't think recognising it is a mark of intellect or seriousness.

littlbrowndog · 29/11/2020 22:50

I did redtrees. Cos I dint understand what you were saying

It’s always good the ask the person who said it to explain what they meant ?

Wbeezer · 29/11/2020 22:51

@littlbrowndog It's not a direct insult like saying "you are a Nazi", it more like saying "it's about time you realised you're one of the bad guys", so not much different to the usual stuff flung at us on here. It's like water off a duck's back to me...

BlackForestCake · 29/11/2020 22:55

@DidoLamenting

Amy Dyess - yes she is who you say she is. Goodness only knows why she thinks anyone would be interested in her opinion in this.
Don't you know who Amy is, and how important they/them is???
littlbrowndog · 29/11/2020 22:55

But using nazis in comedy as an example to explain how bad we are

How weird is that

Thanks wbeezer

persistentwoman · 29/11/2020 22:56

I also googled littlbrowndog - need bleach after reading some of those Urban dictionary definitions. Bleurgh...

littlbrowndog · 29/11/2020 22:56

I know. Erm. Eek

Passmeabottlemrjones · 29/11/2020 23:01

RedtreesRedtrees

So you think that women talking about maintaining certain single sex spaces for women are akin to Nazis?

I bet you think that JK Rowling is solely responsible for trans sex workers being murdered by men in Brazil as well don't you?

As I said upthread - yaaaaaaawwwwwnnnnn......

RedtreesRedtrees · 29/11/2020 23:07

I’m afraid you’ve completely missed the point, but why doesn’t that surprise me? 🤔😂

Defaultname · 29/11/2020 23:10

Leftists tend to emphasise the Daily Mail's support, in the early years, for Hitler.
Not so much about the British Left's spotty history:

With the beginning of the Second World War in 1939, the CPGB initially continued to support the struggle on two fronts (against Chamberlain at home and Nazi fascism abroad). Following the Molotov–Ribbentrop nonaggression pact on August 23 between the Soviet Union and Germany, the Comintern immediately changed its position. The British party immediately fell in line, campaigning for peace, and describing the war as the product of imperialism on both sides, and in which the working class had no side to take. This was opposed within the CPGB by Harry Pollitt and J. R. Campbell, the editor of the Daily Worker, and both were relieved of their duties in October 1939] Pollitt was replaced by Palme Dutt. From 1939 until 1941 the CPGB was very active in supporting strikes and in denouncing the government for its pursuit of the war.

However, when in 1941 the Soviet Union was invaded by Germany, the CPGB reversed its stance immediately and came out in support of the war on the grounds that it had now become a war between fascism and the Soviet Union. Pollitt was restored to his old position as Party Secretary. In fact, the Communists' support for the war was so vociferous that they launched a campaign for a Second Front in order to support the USSR and speed the defeat of the Axis. In industry, they now opposed strike action and supported the Joint Production Committees, which aimed to increase productivity, and supported the National Government that was led by Winston Churchill (Conservative) and Clement Attlee (Labour). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communist_Party_of_Great_Britain#1939_to_1956

So for a while there, they could point to the Totenkops (the SS's death's-head badge), and say "Not our enemy".

RedtreesRedtrees · 29/11/2020 23:12

This has actually become parody 😂

littlbrowndog · 29/11/2020 23:18

But what did you mean redtrees ?
