Jo Maugham (@JolyonMaugham) Tweeted:
"We waited some weeks for the BBC to be ready to cover our legal action to protect the legal rights of trans children. And the piece is up and is quite extraordinary. I'm not going to link to it because it is inaccurate and gives space to a transphobic hate group." twitter.com/JolyonMaugham/status/1330758709140729856?s=20

Which I assume refers to this piece:

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-55015959

And he says this about LGB Alliance, which feels stupidly for a lawyer libellous: The third point is they have quoted the so-called LGB Alliance - a dark money funded astro-turfed hate group - on the healthcare of trans teenagers. What next? Will the BBC be quoting white supremacists on whether sickle cell anaemia should be treated on the NHS?

Fantastically put. We've been joking about it all year, and time has dulled the horror we all felt at the time.

We shouldn't forget.

Am i understanding SeaRabbits post correctly.

People are contributing to The good law project to tackle the government on for example PPE contracts, but some of this money will go to the case re trans children, even if that isn't the intention of your donation.

Are people who donate aware of this, and how do TGL project decide how to allocate the money between each case?

@LaValliere

It’s easy - & entirely understandable- to joke about Jo clubbing a fox to death while wearing a kimono because the picture in all of our minds is so appalling & ludicrous. But I think we should all remember the reality- the terror felt by a small animal, the blood, the noises, the battering, the violence, the sustained effort needed to kill a living breathing creature. The terror most of all. Animals feel fear.

A man who clubs a defenceless animal to death is a vile, vile being. He showed what he really was that day. We should never forget it.

This.

The casual way he reported it was chilling.

He has no conscience, no empathy IMO.

Sounds v v dodgy. I wonder if Mr Fox Killer would like to explain himself?

Alwaystheplusone · 02/12/2020 22:34

Jo was very upset about social media’s reaction to the fox killing and he tweeted that if it wasn’t for the love and support of his family he may not be here today. Perhaps Jo should remember that when he invites his followers to pile-on people like Suzanne Moore.

Yes that is what I thought.

They should ask for it back.

Jolyon did it. He will understand.

FannyCann · 02/12/2020 22:53

Ah yes. That interview on Radio 4 Today explaining the fox killing. Wink

Indeed. Vile man.

Jolyon Maugham:

If you would like to support our efforts, we have now reopened the crowdfunding page which we closed whilst we processed yesterday's judgment. #TransRightsAreHumanRights

Oddly, he's switched off replies for this tweet and other tweets about taking legal action against the court conclusion.

I suppose it was a male fox he clubbed to death, rather than a vixen? This is a guide to identifying the two sexes: www.permuted.org.uk/photography/how-to-tell-the-difference-between-male-and-female-foxes/

Could still be of use to him if he's had the creature put on display.

Would be great if campaigners are starting to realise that consent matters and the best interests of children should be paramount.

It is unsettling just how many adults are backing the use of experimental drugs on kids and have decided that that's a hill they'd like to die on. Post the ruling it's also clear that they have been administered with little care or analysis of the long term impact. Even the NHS now acknowledges that little is known about the long-term side effects of puberty blockers in children. Given all of this, and the lack of evidence demonstrating the long term benefits, how could any adult guarantee that this is the right course of action for kids? What is the motivation for this campaign beyond emotional involvement? Where's the scrutiny?
