Ironically her next tweet is about anti bullying says "it's ok to be different" (which of course it is).

So according to Fleur 'difference' is good, apart from when it relates to the fact that transwomen and women are different.

I'm all for her message that transgender people should not be discriminated against but pretending they are something they are not and losing the true definition of women as a group, that I can't get on board with.

I am lifelong Labour but can't vote for this. When is Keir Starmer going to get off the fence?

None of them have. Gutless wonders. The cowardice in politics and the corporate world is astounding.

@ThatIsNotMyUsername

But they aren’t right or in power!
Yep.

Labour as a party had been drawing level and overtaking the Tories, suddenly JC and followers decide that's too much like success, better stymie that one. So Labour only ahead with their current leader who will see his winning streak plummet once he has to reinstate Corbyn as an MP. Go woke go broke

I despair

@Violetparis

I can't recall anyone in the Labour Party who has stood up for Rosie Duffield. Where is Keir Starmer, Jess Phillips, Lisa Nandy, Angela Rayner etc ? Corbyn is over, it's these politicians who have power in the Labour Party now and I am so disappointed and disillusioned with the lot of them.
I think it’s an unwinnable debate at the moment, unfortunately. Anyone who tries to take them on will be labelled as a cruel transphobe and it will draw lots of negative attention. The best tactic is probably to ignore the people calling for the whip to be withdrawn from Rosie. In that sense I don’t really blame Keir Starmer for not getting involved in this. On another note, I don’t think being on social media is a good thing for any politician but I guess it’s a requirement these days. But when you’re on social media, people seem to feel that they own you in some way and they will never leave you alone.

Oh and Lisa Nandy and Angela Rayner are super woke and would have been more likely to side with the TRAs, so it’s probably good that they haven’t said anything. Jess Phillips is already hated by them for being an alleged TERF and obviously they hate Keir Starmer because it’s so awful having a leader capable of winning an election. Wading in on this debate is just going to fuel the fire.

SmallPug · 20/11/2020 11:26

It is true that they can’t win. But they do keep wading in by tweeting about trans rights all the time. They’d be better off not doing that and focusing on the issues that need sorting and be glad that the tories had to do the GRA consultation.

Violetparis · 20/11/2020 12:42

If Labour won't wade in and stick up for women then they don't deserve to win and won't, because come election time they will look like idiots if they can't describe what a woman is for fear of offending the trans lobby.

@NotBadConsidering

Good on Mimmymum! Maybe that will lead Fleur to this thread so she can realise how stupid she’s being and find some support to make a stand.
Yup.

I don't think TRAs know how much damage they do to their own 'cause' by sending people here.
