Sorry for the daily fail link but has anyone seen this? Sanitary products for people who menstruate from Superdrug. What were they thinking?

That bad NHS. Actually mentioning the words men and women

So not inclusive.

littlbrowndog · 04/09/2020 22:18

The people should have investigations. Something has gone wrong when they were assigned

NiceGerbil · 04/09/2020 22:19

It's way worse than that, littlebrowndog. Look at this shitshow of transphobia. I expect Twitter will be up in arms about it soon...

'There are two types of condoms: male condoms, worn on the penis; and female condoms, worn inside the vagina.

This page is about male condoms, and explains how they work and where you can get them.

Male condoms are made from very thin latex (rubber), polyisoprene or polyurethane and are designed to stop a man's semen from coming into contact with his sexual partner.'

Better.

littlbrowndog · 04/09/2020 22:23

Omg gerbil. That is a shocker

🔥🤦‍♀️💪💪💪

NHS. So not inclusive the phobics or something

littlbrowndog · 04/09/2020 22:25

Glad you corrected that. Who wants the persons getting confused with who the persons might be when the persons are using the persons condoms

Skyliner001 · 04/09/2020 22:26

Old news.

littlbrowndog · 04/09/2020 22:29

Person news don’t be ageist

DialSquare · 04/09/2020 22:43

@Quaagars

*tyou know exactly who is covered under the trans umbrella and you still think they should all be let into female single sex spaces.

Don't put words in my mouth or presume to know what I think - I never said that at all.
I was told to patronisingly go educate myself, so I said, yes actually, I already have.
Nowhere did I say that "all should be let into female single sex spaces", just that this thread is about trans men inclusivity and that's what I was commenting on.

So if you agree that female single sex spaces should remain as single sex spaces, why are you happy with the erasure of the word women?
HerNameWasEliza · 04/09/2020 23:12

Bit worried that I didn't know my OH couldn't buy me tampons. He often does when he gets the shopping in. He buys my daughter sanitary towels too. He bought a pregnancy test once too. Am I going to get into trouble?

WhoWants2Know · 05/09/2020 01:11

That article with the quote from Mermaids was disturbing. Talking about "when a young trans man has his first period" they will have a product to choose.

Young enough to be having a first period, but old enough to change gender.

Quaagars · 05/09/2020 01:41

Why doesn't Jake Edwards (female to male) have his womb etc removed so he doesn't menstruate?

Not sure who Jake Edwards is but I'd be interested to know too as have wondered this - if you're identifying away from being female, surely giving birth or having your womb intact is one of the most womanly things you can have/do?
So if you're male, why would you still want that?
Genuine question, just thinking that would be extremely distressing if you were a man?
See previous history, I'm not a "I'm all ears honest guv" poster who then laughs and shows am nothing of the sort - just genuinely interested and want to learn other viewpoints

NiceGerbil · 05/09/2020 01:43

Not to mention

Maternity pads
Breast pads
Lanisoh

What world do these people live in that people challenge anyone who looks male buying this stuff?

Do they want to have a world where a woman who has had a baby can't/ shouldn't ask a male partner to pop to the shops for this stuff?

It's bizarre.

Quaagars · 05/09/2020 01:59

Just to add onto my post as much as I'm curious and would love someone to answer, I'm fully aware nobody probably will due to having been on the receiving end of people asking "innocent" questions on here and then ROFL'ing when you do answer Sad
If anyone does answer though would be great just for getting across different viewpoints
Screw any lollers or dicks, good for newbies/lurkers and not just echo chambered

NiceGerbil · 05/09/2020 02:02

I'm still up. What's the question?

Quaagars · 05/09/2020 02:09

I'm still up. What's the question?

The one asked just before your post

if you're identifying away from being female, surely giving birth or having your womb intact is one of the most womanly things you can have/do?

Going by your previous posts maybe not in a position to answer just like I'm not but I'm still curious to know anyway

NiceGerbil · 05/09/2020 02:26

The point is that male female and man woman and boy girl are detached from biology.

So you have a sex 'assigned' at birth (rather than observed).

Girls or boys can have periods or erections.

The body is irrelevant, immaterial. A 'social construct'.

Men can give birth, women can have penises.

Linking man/ woman/male/ female with sex organs or different physiology is offensive.

All that matters is how you feel inside. There is no pre-requisite to want to alter your appearance/ body. If you say you are a man/ woman then you are. Full stop. In fact, saying an obvious male wearing a suit with a beard who is 6'5 for eg is transphobic. Policing women's appearance is a terrible thing to do. (Feminism subverted).

All single sex things including prison sport etc should accept declared gender full stop.

Eg male rapists with working penises in women's prisons is fine. They are women if they say so, so cruel to put them in with men. Even if look like men. Rationale. Women commit sex offences too. If there are risks then they should be assessed and dealt with.

Etc etc

NiceGerbil · 05/09/2020 02:28

Short answer.

No it's fine. Transmen having babies or transwoman enjoying their penises is aok and if you're not comfortable you're an old fashioned bigot. Stop policing people's bodies!

Quaagars · 05/09/2020 02:35

Oh FFS, and THAT'S why there's never going to be any answer on here except the echo chamber.
As I said, nobody wants to hear anything different, any different experiences, viewpoints.
Even said we're not placed to say and would like to hear other viewpoints but some just can't help selves!
I like hearing different views and experiences, some want to just exist in a pit of "load of blah bollocks! YEAH!" cheerleading.
Which is why nothing ever gets debated/discussed on here as you can never have a different opinion without "huzzah!" or lols.

NiceGerbil · 05/09/2020 02:39

What's wrong with that answer.

You asked why trans men have babies. That is why.

Do you want to converse or just FFS around the place. Engage with what I've said. There was nothing goady or inaccurate in it.

Quaagars · 05/09/2020 02:47

Are you a trans man?
I was saying I'd like to know how someone could be a trans man but still wanting to do the one thing that only a female body can do - give birth.
If you're not a trans man, you're doing a banging job proving my point why nobody will ever answer as they get this bollocks thrown out instead.

Quaagars · 05/09/2020 02:48

You asked why trans men have babies. That is why

Yes from a trans man point of view would like to know

NiceGerbil · 05/09/2020 02:50

Well according to stonewall umbrella I'm trans.

If you want to ask trans men specifically then you need to make that clear.

What specifically is bollocks about my answer. Trans men have babies. Trans women use their penis in sex. Dysphoria is not a pre-requisite of being trans. It's not complicated.

Quaagars · 05/09/2020 02:55

Well according to stonewall umbrella I'm trans

Oh OK, you keep on doing that banging job I mentioned lol.

If you want to ask trans men specifically then you need to make that clear

I did.
if you're identifying away from being female, surely giving birth or having your womb intact is one of the most womanly things you can have/do?
Pretty clear I'm asking trans men why they would want to do womanly things like give birth
(Whilst at the same time aware noone will probably answer as this is the crap they get!)
Which was my original point

EdgeOfACoin · 05/09/2020 05:48

Quaagars, I am not a transman and I don't understand why a transman would have a baby. I also don't understand how a transman who has a baby is 'living as a man'.

I did read this article a while ago, though:

www.google.com/amp/s/news.sky.com/story/amp/trans-man-gives-birth-after-using-female-sperm-donor-11897122

In it the transman said:

I don't think pregnancy is the ultimate female experience, therefore it didn't challenge me as a man.

Honestly, if giving birth isn't the ultimate female experience, I don't know what is. I, too, would be interested in a transman's perspective on this.
