Please share this if you are on Twitter. Just when you think things can't get any more bonkers....one complaint from a genderwoo ideologist and convicted within minutes!

Their dark chocolate ginger biscuits will be a loss, I have to say. But needs must.

Have you tried Borders biscuits? Available in all major supermarkets Smile
SerenityNowwwww · 03/09/2020 19:10

Their biscuits make me feel sicky - I have dodgy blood sugar and what I call ‘dirty sugar’ makes me ill (so no cheap jelly sweets for me). The only thing I could have missed would be their croissants - it the shop near my office stopped selling them and they have since closed down anyway.

Their salads were always rank, and choice of sandwiches woeful.

@WildishBambino

Well "Alex - fold up toy designer" certainly seems to have a lot of time for making insults on twitter.

That's Alex Josephine Gwynne, a transwoman, who seems to spend their life complaining about women.

Whoops Alex, get it right.

I subscribe to the Spectator, The New Statesman, The Tines, The Week and The New European. Surprise surprise, I don't agree with every article in every publication.
I'm a co-op member and it's the only shop in our village. Our mortgage, home insurance and pet insurance is with them too. Not for much longer if they can't reign in the thick wokesters in charge of their social media accounts.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/09/2020 19:33

"Child-hungry" is an interesting addition from this person. There is a crocodile preying on fish saying they are "transitioning as a newt". Nothing to suggest "children" per se. The cartoon is is a clear if unsubtle reference to female only spaces and the risk of predatory males self IDing into them.

Milicentbystander72 · 03/09/2020 20:27

I subscribed to The Spectator just before lockdown. Best thing I ever did. Love it.

HagarTheHorrible · 04/09/2020 11:37

Chairman of Spectator Andrew Neil pulls no punches on twitter "No need to bother, Co-op. As of today you are henceforth banned from advertising in The Spectator, in perpetuity. We will not have companies like yours use their financial might to try to influence our editorial content..."

Thanks to AN's tweet this is now the top trend on Twitter. It shines a light. Thanks Co-op.

merrymouse · 04/09/2020 12:49

It's just so sexist and hypocritical.

The Co-op were apparently fine with every word written by James Delingpole, Toby Young and Boris Johnson, but the straw that really broke the camel's back was James Kirkup supporting feminists.

MoltenLasagne · 04/09/2020 12:50

Wow there are a LOT of comments on that tweet. More power to the guy for refusing to be swayed.

BabyItsAWildWorld · 04/09/2020 12:54

Excellent work from AN and The Spectator.

poorbuthappy · 04/09/2020 12:55

Tremendous response from Andrew.

Ha, nearly 10k likes!

Fair play to him.

Yeah, this. And Rod Liddle too. James Kirkup isn't, I don't think, someone who writes to offend or to produce outrage.

@BabyItsAWildWorld

Excellent work from AN and The Spectator.
We're on the bones of our arses in the Vimes household due to furlough fuckery, but when I can afford it I want to subscribe to The Spectator. As a pp said, there's a reason they are going from strength to strength while the Guardian is dying a slow death.
Scout2016 · 04/09/2020 13:10

Does anyone know how much the content of the paper version varies from the online content? I would prefer a paper copy but not if none of the GC articles will be in it. Been very impressed with some of the coverage linked on this forum and had it with the Guardian.

BaronessWrongCrowd · 04/09/2020 13:15

I love how a complaint involving anything related
gender identity gets a response straight away but they ignore everyone else. Hmm

waxofffff · 04/09/2020 13:16

Still reading the thread. Is it possible to see a list of companies that COOP advertise in?

There is much more content online - the paper magazine is published in full online but additional online articles are published throughout the week.
Cwenthryth · 04/09/2020 13:24

Haha, whoever is on the Spectator’s Twitter this afternoon is replying to all the people commenting on Andrew Neils’s post saying they want to subscribe with a link to do Grin

Wonder how Co-op will respond?

Scout2016 · 04/09/2020 13:31

@GrandmaMazur thank you. That's decided it for me.
