Credit for 'the rules' to TheBewilderness, who used to be here but isn't any more.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 30/08/2020 20:50

@PheasantPlucker1

Rule #3 as well!

Women speaking for themselves are hateful.

It does not matter if women have no loos, no changing rooms, no sports teams, no representation in parliament.

It makes men feel bad to be reminded of it, so just be kind

It's sad I know, but this behaviour just doesn't make me feel like being kind. It makes me feel anger instead.

RedtreesRedtrees · 30/08/2020 20:51

Better than HP? Is that possible?! She’s so good at creating fictional worlds.

Quaagars · 30/08/2020 20:54

Rant? Fuck me

Way to fixate on one word and miss all the rest of what I said lol

PheasantPlucker1 · 30/08/2020 20:55

I think the angers a good thing.

I uses to be polite and now I take no shit. Humans cannot change sex and if you choose to have a gender, more fool you. Grin

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 30/08/2020 20:55

@yourhairiswinterfire

That's probably The Casual Vacancy.

I loved the book, couldn't put it down. Thought it was much better writing than Harry Potter.

But reviews are mixed, loads of people seem to hate it.

Thanks Isabelle. I think I'll give it a try before I dive into the Strike ones.

I really enjoyed the strike ones

I didn’t read them for ages but finally got round to them

Praise from Caesar! Grin
MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 30/08/2020 21:03

I agree Pheasant. I'm embracing it Grin

Quaagars · 30/08/2020 21:04

Oh crikey missed this one
Yes, seems like the "rule book" has been wheeled out lol
Doesn't matter what you say, there's always a rule to what you're saying to discredit, dismiss, cast aspersions on
Heaven forbid anyone has an actual differing opinion

RedtreesRedtrees · 30/08/2020 21:08

What’s your favourite HP quote @quaagars? I think mine would be “it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be!” JK has so much to teach us.

PheasantPlucker1 · 30/08/2020 21:11

Feel free to give us your opinion Quaggers

What should be done about all the people with XX chromosomes who want spaces of their own, sports teams of their own and political representation of their own, same as the other groups yet?

Do you have an opinion on how these people should be treated?

PheasantPlucker1 · 30/08/2020 21:14

I have two favourite quotes.

The first is Harry telling Umbridge "I must not tell lies"

The second is Mrs Weasley. "Not my daughter, you bitch".

Mrs Weasley had many faults, but that was a brilliant moment. If you come after our daughters, expect hell.

Quaagars · 30/08/2020 21:16

What’s your favourite HP quote @quaagars? I think mine would be “it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be!”

Definitely like that one

yourhairiswinterfire · 30/08/2020 21:18

My favourite is: “Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right. -Albus Dumbledore”

And JK is doing a fine job of it too.

And a boy can't grow into a woman

There's hope for you yet then.
Quaagars · 30/08/2020 21:24

Yes, but Bellatrix wanted rid of Mrs Weasley and her daughter Ginny as she was a traitor, a mudblood lover - ie, someone who was fighting for the rights of Muggles (non magic people) to exist.
It's an inspiring quote depending on what side and viewpoint you're coming at it from - for me, yes it is an inspiring quote as Bellatrix needed challenging as she doesn;t get to say who is valid as a human and who isn't.

TW quite obviously exist - but they’re not adult human females

OP posts:
midgebabe · 30/08/2020 21:26

@Butterer

Hold on - who's not valid as a human?
Women probably?
PheasantPlucker1 · 30/08/2020 21:30

Quaggers you are on the side which wants all people with XX chomosomes (muggles) to lose all public spaces.

They can not exist, unless to validate and serve those XYs (pure bloods).

Muslims, for example, cannot use mixed sex spaces. So they must be crushed, silenced, removed and ignored by you. Does that make you Hermione, or a dementor?

GemmeFatale · 30/08/2020 21:30

@Quaagars no one is suggesting anyone isn’t a valid human.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 30/08/2020 21:32

Every time I see a company or person use the word 'inclusive' I understand that what they mean is that it excludes women. And it always does.
