That tweet from Mimmymum sums up the mindset of Mermaids, i.e. they are the undeniable experts on transgender kids by virtue of being either parents or trans themselves.

I’m the parent of a child with multiple serious medical issues. I certainly don’t claim to be an expert in them though

Sounds a bit like they're pissed off that JKR got in their first before they could, regarding the 'takes months' comment. Seems a bit of a childish "well we were going to take it off you anyway, so ner ner."

Great to see some real integrity here and standing by principles regardless of the backlash.

Someone should tell them to just be quiet. Every word just makes them look worse.

So they have been lobbied to remove JKR from the award, paid 10K to a trans organisation and are now recruiting trans people to the board to keep things under control.

I posted an article about her elsewhere. Kerry Kennedy runs the RFK centre like her own personal fiefdom. She would not have bothered with a 'process to remove the award'.

He not only calls her a T**f, he calls her 'dear.' Even old-school misogynist Michael Winner got called out for that in about 2005. Clearly a very progressive organisation, with a shit-hot professional PR team 😂
