around the guidance for the Equality Act 2010, and is crowdfunding for a judicial review. Thought I ought to spread the word.

DialSquare Ann, I think, has some big backers, I can't be sure, but I am surmising. A lot of people want this clarity, not just us and it has wider repercussions.

These things are never certain but she has done her work.

highame · 27/08/2020 09:24

I wonder if she was the other cowboy who rode into town mentioned by faircop. I have another attack of Conspiracyitus Grin

NonnyMouse1337 · 27/08/2020 09:29

Yes, what we need to clarity and to know where things stand. Whether the case will go in our favour or not, we need to understand how the law is intended to work, and then we can either put pressure for it to be enforced properly or challenge it legally so it is changed to protect women's rights.

Respect to Ann for taking this on.

yourhairiswinterfire · 27/08/2020 09:36

I was thinking that highame.

Fair Cop have tweeted that they contacted EHRC themselves in February, raising concerns about the Police and their Public Sector Equality Duty, and were ignored.

FC said "we have a better understanding now as to why we didn't even get an acknowledgement of our concerns. They obviously had a lot on their plate!"

So seems they were unaware this was going on. *takes off tinfoil hat.

Over halfway already Shock

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 27/08/2020 09:48

I had a dig. Thanks for the heads up!

Namechangetoavoidmra · 27/08/2020 09:52

@ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings yes exactly what you said. Whichever way this goes, we’ll get some clarity and then know what to focus on next. You are spot on too about how the TRAs either deliberately or through a complete lack of intellectual discipline (which I think is generally a woke/post modern thing) have zero respect for clarity. Everything is just so fluid, so it can mean whatever the most shouty want it to mean at any given point (just realised there is something very infantile in that: everything is fluid so can flit between the shiniest prettiest meaning of the moment and then flit to another when that gets boring. Philosophy by Instagram)

gardenbird48 · 27/08/2020 09:54

it's nearly at halfway!! Amazing!! I couldn't find my lovely pink gardening gloves so I pulled out some old green bamboo ones (that fit beautifully and last for ages) and got some gardening done. It is very encouraging at this point that it hasn't been taken down and this is such an important action.
highame - I have a strong feeling you are on the right lines Grin Grin Wink

VoleClock · 27/08/2020 09:57

Over 10k now - just added my widow's mite

IamEarthymama · 27/08/2020 10:07

Can someone please post or PM a link, I can't find it? Thanks

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 27/08/2020 10:31

I've asked MNHQ to change the title. Thanks for suggesting it Thanks

Perfectly highlighting why this is so important. (hopefully pic attatches).

They've basically decided that the EA is 'outdated', so they'll take it upon themselves to change the words to mean what they want them to mean. I can't quite believe the arrogance.

Amazing how switching one word (using 'identity' instead of 'reassignment') changes everything, isn't it?

We're not allowed to post or pm links to crowdfunders but if you go to the CrowdJustice website and search her name it should be there. Or go to Menu > Explore Cases > and select the Judicial review tag it's the second one there, titled 'Official sources provide unlawful guidance on the 2010 Equality Act!'.

yourhairiswinterfire QMUL have really upped the ante with that haven't they. Changing the wording of the law because it doesn't suit their agenda indeed!

highame · 27/08/2020 10:48

yourhairiswinterfire exactly.. The arrogance is unbelievable

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 27/08/2020 10:51

@Namechangetoavoidmra

This post has been hidden until the MNHQ team can have a look at it.
Why did you post this? I see this a lot on threads. It's obviously something you've written yourself, as no-one would have had time to report it.

What's the code?

I believe in daylight.

ANewCreation · 27/08/2020 11:03

It seems that changing things because you don't like the wording for ideological reasons is being done on a national scale.

From Ann Sinnott's account on the Crowd justice site:

"On 17 February 2020, AEA wrote to both EHRC and GEO and provided a list of unlawful guidance identified by AEA. Protracted correspondence with both organisations then followed.

GEO maintains that its guidance is correct.

On 23 March 2020, EHRC - dismissing the unlawful guidance as mere “inconsistencies” - acknowledged that the guidance needed to be amended but was vague as to when that would take place.

Finally, on 14 August 2020, EHRC provided AEA with a list of recently amended guidance. Only six documents have actually been amended, the rest have just been made unavailable – links lead to ‘Access Denied’ or ‘Page Not Found’.

But whether amended or unavailable, the guidance documents can still be accessed via the websites of other organisations, so misinformation continues to be spread.

EHRC have made these changes quietly, without announcement and without any attempt to inform affected organisations. That is unacceptable."

@milesjuppismybitch sorry, I dont understand your question, but i posted a link to the crowd funder website as someone was asking and I didnt know that wasnt allowed.
Sorry MN moderators. I have read the guidelines but clearly not absorbed them.
Please dont let it jeopardise this thread. Was just a silly multitasking mistake as I should have realised there was a reason no one else had posted it

GCGayDad · 27/08/2020 11:06

Just contributed. Found it by Googling "crowd justice" and Ann Sinnot. It came straight up.
MichelleofzeResistance · 27/08/2020 11:14

Why has it all been done quietly by the backdoor?

Because it is perfectly well known that it cannot be achieved by fair means, in full sight, with full informed consent of the electorate.

Which admits, there's no mandate, it would raise protests and questions that couldn't be overcome, and it cannot stand on its own merits. It requires the subjugation of all female people's needs and feelings and best interests to those of a tiny percentage of those born male. It is fundamentally unfair and unjust and unequal. It cannot allow equal consideration to be given to those born female because if that is allowed to happen it does not work.

The hope is that if it's made law it will just be impossible to undo and female people will shut up, go away and eventually get used to their subordinated, lesser position and losses as the new normal.

One would hope that parliament and MPs would get a bit more interested in the ethics of a political lobby group being enabled to reframe, adapt and alter laws in their own best interests against the decisions of the HoC and due process. Because if that's how things are going to work and that's ok, why bother with MPs or the HoC at all? Why bother with the Civil Service and equality law at all when it just says what the most powerful political lobby group want, regardless of things like fairness, equality, consideration of all tax payer interests etc?

No taxation without representation. Dig. Yes. And if this finds in the favour of said political lobby group it will lay out before the electorate in clear sight: females are second class citizens in the UK, subordinate at all times to the best interests of males. And MPs/HoC are just expensive noise makers, the law is made by stealth with no regard for democracy or the very expensive piles upon piles of law and legislation the HoC roll out.

Good luck getting that past the UK general public. Boris is already clear that this whole situation is a poison chalice.

I read MilesJuppIsMyBitch's question as directed at MNHQ.

Bold fail!

Namechangetoavoidmra · 27/08/2020 11:30

@dialsquare oh yes, that makes more sense now.
My guess is that posts with links to specific URLs - including the CJ one - get an automated quarantine, like a spam filter (that's certainly what happened to mine - immediately went to quarantine and then quickly deleted after that).
Lesson learned.
