around the guidance for the Equality Act 2010, and is crowdfunding for a judicial review. Thought I ought to spread the word.

I think crowd justice showed their true colours with Allison Bailey. No way I'm helping them out.

Datun · 26/08/2020 17:31

The comments are good.

Ann Sinnott is a heroic woman and respected former councillor in Cambridge. She resigned from the council, and then from the Labour Party, after an unsuccessful struggle to get single-sex facilities reinstated.

According to the local newspaper, Cambridge city council passed an amendment to its equality policy, allowing transgender people to use "gender-appropriate" single-sex council facilities, just days after the Equality Act became law in October 2010.

The amendment was put forward by then-councillor Sarah Brown, known more recently for telling a local blogger, on Twitter, to "suck my formaldehyde pickled balls".

So Cambridge abolished women's rights to single-sex facilities, just days after that right had been enshrined in law.

Sorry for the derail, but is there any further info anywhere re Allison Bailey?

Thank you.

Datun · 26/08/2020 18:16

"Allison Bailey: “I am suing Stonewall to stop them policing free speech”

It's rather interesting that David Isaacs has been head of the EHRC - and also Stonewall.

MrsBodger · 26/08/2020 18:20

Really delighted about this.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/08/2020 18:23

That is an excellent cause to dig for.

highame · 26/08/2020 18:27

Just done my duty and not donated to Crowd Justice...wonder if they've learned their lesson yet?

sultanasofa · 26/08/2020 18:27

Thank you StilNotAGirl and MilleniumHallsWalledGarden for the help with searches

Datun · 26/08/2020 18:34

There are clearly a high number of women who are very invested in this case.

Go Ann.

highame · 26/08/2020 18:37

This has just given me a bit of a lift. I think she has some friends in high places

yourhairiswinterfire · 26/08/2020 18:39

@Datun

Go Ann.

I'm shocked at how quickly it's shot up, I think it was just over £600 when I first saw the post. I just can't quite believe we actually need to crowd fund to stop our rights being ignored/misinterpreted, but here we are.

I just love it when women get angry 💪

wellbehavedwomen · 26/08/2020 18:40

This cuts at the heart of the regulatory capture. Ann is brilliant for doing this, and I'm so glad to have a chance to dig for it. Really delighted it's happening. We need clarity and we need the public to know what is actually happening. This reaching a Judicial Review will achieve that.

StandUpStraight · 26/08/2020 18:45

Dug. Thanks so much for sharing. Found it by searching “equality” on the crowdjustice site. No tip, obvs.

Datun · 26/08/2020 18:54

I just love it when women get angry 💪

And I love one of the comments

"Go get 'em".

Let's get this bloody party started.

Stealhsquirrelnutkin · 26/08/2020 19:02

This is massive. I am in awe of Ann Sinnott and the work she has put in to prepare this challenge.

The Government Equality Office and the Equality and Human Rights Commission have been institutionally captured by trans lobbyists, and have been misrepresenting the Equality Act, and disseminating misleading guidance. Pitting the two protected characteristics, ‘sex’ and ‘gender reassigned’ against each other in clear breach of their Public Sector Equality Duty. For years. They may also have engaged in prohibited conduct, by purposefully misleading other organisations into breaching the Equality Act.

When a judicial review confirms this (the evidence has already been compiled) then all the organisations who rewrote their internal policies to include males in female spaces, to the clear detriment of women and girls, will have to change them back again, in accordance with Equality legislation which protects single-sex exemptions where they are "a proportionate means to achieve a legitimate aim".

Girlguides won't be sending any more girls camping in the same tents as teenage boys-who-identify-as-girls, under the supervision of male bodied guideleaders identifying as women. The NHS will have to provide single sex wards instead of the current single gender shit shows, prisons and YMCA women's dormitories and shower rooms will revert to being safely single sex again.

I've fished down the back of the sofa in search of a contribution, with no gratuity for Crowdinjustice. After the way they behaved towards Allison Bailey I wouldn't give them the used tea bags from my compost caddy!

highame · 26/08/2020 19:08

Stealhsquirrelnutkin lovely post

It's insane that it's even got to this point.

Rapists in female prisons was a particularly low point. Excluding a fucking rapist from a prison where the women are incarcerated and can't escape, is not considered a 'legitimate aim'????

LOLeater · 26/08/2020 19:40

Dug - and proud to do so. No tips obviously.
Thank you Ann and thank you to all the posters here for circulating the information.

Feel very cheerful now 😊 Cheers!

BettyFilous · 26/08/2020 20:14

I have contributed and removed the CJ tip, cheeky fuckers. Important case & watching with interest.

BettyFilous · 26/08/2020 20:16

If there is a silver lining to the pandemic, it seems some women have used their available downtime very productively. For the rest of us, with normal life on hold, we are making good use of our disposable income.

Namechangetoavoidmra · 26/08/2020 20:22

@BettyFilous that just brought a tear to my eye. I hope you’re right. I’ve donated too. It’s almost at £6k now, so not bad in a day!

Lazt · 26/08/2020 20:27

Thank you for highlighting this, I’ve just done some digging.

Echo the sentiments re those getting out and making a difference!
