has had to lock down her Twitter account after being inundated with hate for saying women have cervix’s

The TRA are now spamming labour with complaints about her transphobia & demands she is sacked

I’m planning to email my support fir her copying in Keir Starmer

(And yes of course LOJ is involved!)

I see that Pink News adds to Duffields sins by saying she supports the banning of laughing gas/hippy crack.

It’s as if simply believing that Women=Adult Human Female is not enough to condemn her...even for their audience.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/08/2020 09:42

Indeed.

Floisme · 02/08/2020 10:10

Looking on the bright side: if it's true that the government is wavering over ditching GRA reform then this should remind them of the batshittery of the TRA lobby and the dire consequences of giving in.

andyoldlabour · 02/08/2020 10:42

Here is my local Kentonline article about it (sorry if someone has posted this before). The comments section is very pro Duffield, which is great. Just a couple of unhinged people who are being voted down.
The people who are going after her locally Sarah Cundy etc. are far left Labour/TRA's. They are trying to throw Labour's first ever MP in Canterbury under the bus. I think Starmer needs to give his head a wobble and get involved.
The Labour party needs to wise up to the fact, that these TRA's are not interested in the Labour party, just their own ideology.

Hasnt Owen Jones just released a book pondering why Labour got so trounced in the last election? You dont have to think too fucking hard about it do you!!!

What a prick he is. He doesn't even have the bollocks to name Rosie Duffield in his tweets about her (presumably so that he can slither his way out of being accused of a pile on) and says that she is 'pretending to be a courageous victim'.

Fuck off Owen, just fuck off.

The only silver lining to this is that it just shines more light on the batshittery, and I do think that there is only so much Keir Starmer is going to be able to take before he has to say 'alright lads, enough'. He will know that this looks absolutely fucking ridiculous to the general public.

Outside of the Twittersphere, no one thinks that 'only women have a cervix' is in any way controversial.

Yes you're right - out in September. It's an 'honest and unflinching appraisal'. I've just read that on Amazon so it must be true.

Scout2016 · 02/08/2020 11:01

Thank you for bringing this to my attention OP. It has been a final straw for me. I have emailed Keir Starmer too and basically asked him to stand up for women, ensure there is some debate and research and stop the Labour party being complicit in allowing the bullies to silence women. Also that young people are being put at risk by not having their mental health examined pre-transition...I quit my membership over their unquestioning GR Act stance and Lily Madigan. I was hoping things would improve.

Scout2016 · 02/08/2020 11:02

And what a disappointment Owen Jones has become.

andyoldlabour · 02/08/2020 11:19

There is a lot of kickback on this twitter thread, plus the "usual suspects".

It’s so disappointing but it feels like we must go through this to get sunlight on this issue. The more ridiculous the TRAs become the more exposed this whole idiocy becomes

TheRealMcKenna · 02/08/2020 12:19

Hasn’t Owen Jones just released a book pondering why Labour got so trounced in the last election?

I can summarise it for you if you like.

Labour lost because the nasty right-wing media, Russia and an Evil Genius or three convinced the British public to vote for Brexit. Labour couldn’t convince people that they’d got it wrong. The strategy of calling people racist, xenophobic, selfish, thick, uneducated, gammon, brainwashed and wishing people a horrible death on Twitter for 3 years straight turned out not to be a winning forumula.

MouseandCat · 02/08/2020 12:21

I have written to Rosie Duffield to thank her and to Keir Starmer to say it is a disgrace if he doesn't support her. Publicly.

Winesalot · 02/08/2020 12:24

Susanna Rustin is supporting Rosie Duffield this morning on twitter.

I wonder if there’ll be another letter from afronted activist guardian staff?

Violetparis · 02/08/2020 12:33

The lack of support for Rosie Duffield from other Labour MPs (apart from Neil Coyle) is shameful.

NotTerfNorCis · 02/08/2020 12:56

No problem calling prostrate-havers men. Where is the outrage from TRAs?

It is. And where are the senior Labour women? Yvette Cooper? Karen Buck? Harriet Harman? They all know damn well what’s going on. I just hope they are planning something behind the scenes - to do a mass outing of themselves.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 02/08/2020 13:11

thehumanformerlyknownasfemale Thanks, yes, I think it was the Labour MP that had accused JKR as 'leveraging her trauma' and then stepped down from the front bench. I forget his name.

Violetparis · 02/08/2020 13:12

Also where is Jess Phillips, the one with the book out called 'Truth to Power' with the words 'How to call time on bullshit, speak up and make a difference' on the cover ?

ThePurported · 02/08/2020 13:19

I doubt they're planning anything, but Harman especially should know better. She knows what happens when you allow a toxic movement to colonise certain wings of the party.

Or do they and Starmer actually believe that gender identity ideology represents progress and something that young and left-leaning voters really want?

ThePurported · 02/08/2020 13:30

Jess Phillips is probably busy arranging another interview with Prick News so she can apologise for her past ignorance and hateful use of the word cervix.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 02/08/2020 13:47

This. Uttery, horribly bloody shameful.

Gusset-Boil, or something like that?
KingFredsTache · 02/08/2020 14:14

Jess Philips has spoken in support of Rosie - she, quite rightly, says that twitter isn't the place for this kind of discourse.

NiceGerbil · 02/08/2020 14:18

In that interview she says she wants to press ahead with the reform of GRA and that the noise on Twitter is holding up trans rights.

Floisme · 02/08/2020 14:38

That's speaking up in support?
Here's my idea of what support would look like: 'Of course only women have a Cervix.'
