has had to lock down her Twitter account after being inundated with hate for saying women have cervix’s

The TRA are now spamming labour with complaints about her transphobia & demands she is sacked

I’m planning to email my support fir her copying in Keir Starmer

(And yes of course LOJ is involved!)

George Aylett is an idiot. A Corbyn fanatic who spends his time criticising and making anti Starmer broadcasts.

Winesalot · 04/01/2021 22:08

The latest is a letter being sent to Starmer by various Labour groups.

As per penis news.

They won’t stop til she is suitably cancelled, will they?

PlantMam · 04/01/2021 23:32

The quote Duffield gave Penis News is a thing of beauty:

“You may have noticed that we are in the middle of a pretty serious pandemic and my constituency is currently suffering from a very high rate of infection.
Our hospitals are under enormous pressure, Brexit has already started to impact East Kent and worried school staff are facing the return of pupils shortly.
I’m sure you’ll understand that these issues are of slightly greater importance to me as an MP than your latest click bait non-story sourced solely from the weird world of Twitter.”

stumbledin · 04/01/2021 23:34

I haven't followed this thread though aware of what has been happening.

But felt reallly grim when I saw the Pink News headline goading people to attack her and thought what a dispiriting example of how under Ofcom this hate speech aganst women (as they will be taking their guidance from Stonewall) will just be brushed aside, but a well thought out considered article (without any personal attacks) about questioning transition for those underage will now be censored.

RedDeerRunning · 04/01/2021 23:38

Not much support for their silly little letters, and pretty much all by men which simply makes them look like a bunch of misogynists. I don't think she's got much to worry about, although this constant sexist harassment must be draining.

Winesalot · 05/01/2021 07:33

The repeated harassment needs to be addressed surely. It is not by constituents, not by individuals of the public. This harassment is being perpetuated by Labour Party sub groups and party members and officials.

Well said.

Vermeil · 05/01/2021 09:15

If Starmer has an ounce of sense he’ll know that pandering to the demands of that sort of group will lose him a lot more votes than just ignoring them.

Yeah. Can you imagine? Starmer, amidst a pandemic and the third national lockdown, deciding to remove the whip from the MP who won Canterbury for them because she said women have cervixes. Nice to see that "winning the argument" rather than elections is still of paramount importance to these fringe groups.
SunsetBeetch · 05/01/2021 17:56

Dear God can open letters just die a death already? They are so last year.

MichelleofzeResistance · 05/01/2021 18:01

I think 'winning the argument' is possibly an over generous interpretation. There are few reasoned points or addressing of the issues, if any at all. It seems more like stamping and shouting dogma until anyone holding other views is removed from their vicinity, so that no argument ever actually takes place at all.

They're trying to condemn Rosie Duffield again.

North West Young Labour, this time. They've passed a motion against her. Some might think there might be greater issues that a left wing party could focus on during a pandemic than Rosie Duffield's twitter likes, but what do they know?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/01/2021 15:48

FFS.

persistentwoman · 13/01/2021 15:53

When facts, logic, ethics and morality are completely absent, all men (and some women) have left is intimidation and bullying. And that's what this is.

HecatesCats · 13/01/2021 16:01

"As chair of the Women's PLP, Duffield’s exclusionary language pushes the transphobic idea that trans women are invalid."

"As Chair of the Women's PLP, Duffield's sensible observation demonstrates that she knows what a woman is, which should be a prerequisite for the role."

Fixed it.

PotholeParadies · 13/01/2021 16:04

Quote from one of the replies.

There’s a pandemic on, kids are going hungry, people are losing jobs and homes and your priority is conducting a hate campaign against a woman who stands up for other women. Really? FFS!

twitter.com/mrsrsparkles/status/1349085628407934978?s=19

Well bloody said. The rest of twitter has been talking about children from low income families being given tinned tuna in coin bags, and this a Labour branch's priority?

BuntingEllacott · 13/01/2021 16:39

Pfft.

TW aren't 'invalid'. They just aren't women. God it's like speaking to a toddler having a tantrum about not having a tail.

teawamutu · 13/01/2021 18:35

What a woman!

Lack of response from the top, even useful idiots like Nandy and Rayner, is quite reassuring in a 'spineless but may know what electoral suicide looks like' kind of way.

I'm so glad she represents Canterbury. Any idea how those of us who'd get sacked for GC views can support her without doing it publicly?

Another round of postcards?
TheBuffster · 13/01/2021 21:48

Postcards?

teawamutu · 13/01/2021 21:51

Previous gutsy female politicians who've admitted what a woman is in public and said we should have rights have been the recipient of postcards from the Terven massive.
