has had to lock down her Twitter account after being inundated with hate for saying women have cervix’s

The TRA are now spamming labour with complaints about her transphobia & demands she is sacked

I’m planning to email my support fir her copying in Keir Starmer

(And yes of course LOJ is involved!)

He didn’t come out to bat for her the last time so I expect he will try his hardest not to say anything this time and hope it gets lost in all the other news

PearPickingPorky · 04/10/2020 21:27

Yeah, Starmer should have spoken up for her before. He didn't. He just can't bring himself to care about women.

(Unless they have a penis. Those ones matter)

EvenSupposing · 04/10/2020 22:13

@Kit19

Fortunately Googling peto brings up many things of interest...
If you google HP be prepared to bring up more than things of interest Envy - not envy

Leeds Labour Society humiliating themselves on twitter attacking Rosie.

They've gone full Trump. Transphobe this, stop being obsessed with genitals that, and blah blah TERF.

Go have a look before someone takes their smartphone away and deletes it all. Grin

PotholeParadies · 05/10/2020 01:56

I like this one, for example...

That is a student society., and they are currently annoyed that Keir Starmer isn't taking a lot of notice.

highame · 05/10/2020 07:55

Fifeteen I know it's not LP policy but the silence on the subject from KS is deafening and with each passing incident where he gets even more creases in his arse from fence sitting, the more he alienates women.

True he has to do a fine balancing act, but the plate spinning can't be maintained for much longer

Winesalot · 05/10/2020 07:57

Whoever was doing the Leeds Labour Society Twitter last night probably should feel rather embarrassed but most likely will feel aggrieved at women telling him to actually get some knowledge before tweeting rubbish.

He had no knowledge of the EA wording, let alone the provisions. And at one point (screenshots were taken before deletion) saying something like biological sex did not matter at all. And later that any provisions for female specific needs were bigoted and transphobic.

And told Dr JCJ she obviously didn’t understand gender.

I'm going to assume that account is run by a 12 year old. Talk about embarrassing yourself with a lack of knowledge about anything.

I followed that link to K Foy's letter to Starmer. Foy is looking to be elected to the Labour NEC so Foy can make sure complaints about transphobia are taken seriously.

One of Foy's points is
CLP Officers signing petitions or open letters which reference transphobic dogwhistle terms like “single sex spaces”.

medium.com/@katie4nec/institutional-transphobia-in-the-labour-party-an-open-letter-to-keir-starmer-2bde3dd71fcb

So, a TRA who is positioning themselves to be able to discipline women MPs for having the temerity to expect the provisions for women in the Equality Act 2010 to be upheld.

Foy is absolutely anti-women. Which is odd for someone who claims to be one.

It's bizarrely quite common in my experience though.

InspiralCoalescenceRingdown · 05/10/2020 09:00

Leeds Labour Party?

Would that be the same Leeds as the Managed Approach Leeds, by any chance? Grin

Quelle surprise.

OvaHere · 05/10/2020 09:09

So common I'd say it was a feature not a bug.

I know this is overused, but it really is Orwellian - the attempt to subvert language, so that even reasonable protections, enshrined in law, are made unreasonable. It's all so manipulative and by the time reasonable people catch up damage has been done.

Only got 18 nominations to get onto the NEC.

Chances of being elected -NIL.

deciding an actual legal term like "single sex spaces" is a transphobic dogwhistle

who the hell do these people think they are?

Yes, it's quite scary the extent to which this is happening.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/10/2020 09:26

I'd agree.

RoyalCorgi · 05/10/2020 09:39

It's been mentioned on here before, but TRAs massively overuse and misuse the term "dogwhistle". If you want to label as transphobic something that quite obviously isn't transphobic, then you claim it's a "dogwhistle". It's pathetic and despicable.

yourhairiswinterfire · 05/10/2020 09:47

It's embarrassingly pathetic. They seriously need to get a grip. They think that's transphobic?? How on Earth do they cope leaving their homes when they're so eager to find offence in absolutely everything? It must be exhausting.

It's like they're determined to render the word 'transphobic' meaningless. All it's likely to get is an eye roll, which is a huge injustice to people who really are/have been victims of genuine transphobia.
