Can someone please tell me what is going on?

All over her Instagram it is flooded with trans stuff (fine) but it seems to be reaction to some sort of apology to the trans community?

Can anyone tell me what has happened?

It just reads like some serious propaganda / there was a takeover of her account which I realise lots of people have allowed as part of BLM .. but can someone explain the trans aspect?

I think it's just her way of supporting BLM. Narrowing in on Black Trans Lives Matter.

I thought her posts about the WOC doctors and the black doula fighting to improve maternity services for WOC were far more interesting and helpful.

Now that is indeed a good thing - maternity outcomes for black women are atrocious when compared to those for white women (both in the US and here) - think of Serena Williams' experiences.

But I wonder if this is what's caused her the problems? Maybe she inadvertently said "pregnant women" instead of "birthing people" and what we're seeing now is the abject grovelling of someone who has yet to realise she's caught in a purity spiral and now she's said one thing a tiny bit off message, there will be no coming back, and she will be hounded to the gates of hell and beyond.

Aaryn Lang, the Misslang mentioned on Instagram, seems like a pleasant character . Imagine the backlash if someone posted a picture wearing something proclaiming that they hate trans people. Double standards abound.

I have no idea what she's apologising for. I had a quick look over on Instagram to see after I read the first few posts of this thread and I'm none the wiser.

I have no idea what is going on - someone has commented asking where the video of her 'atoning' and explaining the Insta takeover has disappeared to, so obviously she has said something that has pissed off Aaryn Lang and this is her penance. But no idea what.

To be honest, I have always thought that AH was pretentious and up her own arse ever since that post Oscars speech when she won for Les Mis. Especially when it was compared to Jennifer Lawrence's the same night!

I don't know, maybe it's because I have never looked at her Insta before, but at least if you went straight to say Munroe Bergdorf's account, you would know exactly what Munroe stood for and was campaigning for straight away?

Yes, I have thought it is odd how 'Black Trans Lives Matter' has gained almost as much traction as 'Black Lives Matter'? But I have not seen similar for 'Black Gay Lives Matter' or 'Black Disabled Lives Matter' or any of subset of black people?

Yep all I know about Anne Hathaway on insta is she seems to hang around with Valentino and his partner .. and I love Valentino's partners account of their opulent lifestyle and love, it is my Instagram guilty pleasure

Maybe it is about the doula thing .. there are quite a few posts on the misslang account (not the takeover of the Anne Hathaway account) about her being a transexual mourning her womb..

I don't know though but I was just thinking if you were a young kid who was into some of Hathaway's cheesy films and came onto her Instagram account you might wonder what you were meant to believe..

The BTLM stuff is simply because TRAs are very good at latching on to whatever cause is in the news - a bit like the SWP used to be: turn up with placards, hand them out, make sure you’re near the front when the cameras are around.

BLM is in the news at the moment, so the TRAs are there, telling everyone they’re racist if they don’t get on board, just as they insisted on being part of LGB. If disability, say, or single parents,, become the next newsworthy cause, you can guarantee that the TRAs will be there, telling everyone that trans disability should be centred, or that trans single parents need to be pushed forward.
