Done. Thanks.

CountFosco · 22/07/2020 18:55

I've now spent ages going through the EH blue plaques for women. Lots of good suggestions on there.

If they want non-binary we should suggest all the cunty ones from history they are trying to claim like James Miranda Barry or Anne Lister. Both of whom are awesome WOMEN.

Dontbeme · 22/07/2020 19:14

Done, and will forward it on to others too.

Justjoshin22 · 22/07/2020 19:18

Done!

Waiohwai · 22/07/2020 19:30

Linda Smith for Mornington Crescent?
Yes!

NeedToKnow101 · 22/07/2020 19:42

Amy Winehouse is perfect for Camden.

Vivienne Westwood for Kings Road? Or is there somewhere else she is associated with?

Martina Navratilova or Serena Williams for Wimbledon.

Yes to Marie Stopes for Hampstead. I saw her plaque there recently.

TinyMetalBirds · 22/07/2020 19:44

I’d like to nominate Angela Carter, but not sure which station. She did live in London I think but not sure where. Or maybe she didn’t!

1000umbrellas · 22/07/2020 19:46

I feel like Warwick Avenue has to be Duffy!

1000umbrellas · 22/07/2020 19:54

Angela Carter has a blue plaque on her former home in Clapham @TinyMetalBirds

Lilyofthevalleys · 22/07/2020 20:03

Ha, I also nominated Rosalind Franklin but for London Bridge as she has a building named after her on Guy’s Campus (I know it wasn’t King’s College when she was at kings).

I’ve also nominated Mary Seacole, Nicola Adams (although any 2012 gold winning Olympians would work), Martina, JK.

Will probably come up with a few more...

Lilyofthevalleys · 22/07/2020 20:04

And Jo Cox for Westminster

Stressing · 22/07/2020 20:06

Done!

CountFosco · 22/07/2020 20:10

For a more lasting momento English Heritage has a campaign to get people to nominate more women, you can submit a suggestion here. The person has to have lived in a still existing building in London and have been dead for 20 years.

SheWhoMustNotBeHeard · 22/07/2020 20:11

Emily Pankhurst for Notting Hill?

rednsparkley · 22/07/2020 20:12

I've filled it in for JK and MN so far, will add more in a bit. I am already thinking that this map will not be what it should be Sad

MollyAtTheFolly · 22/07/2020 20:14

Emmeline Pankhurst, although originally from Manchester, lived in Russell Square.

Redshoeblueshoe · 22/07/2020 20:16

Done.
After all how do you get to Hogwarts if not through King's Cross ?

MollyAtTheFolly · 22/07/2020 20:34

Well, if you happen to have a magic ship you can get in via the Great Lake, I suppose Grin

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 22/07/2020 20:56

Or a herd of Abraxans to fly you in. Wink

Thanks for this too @CountFosco
