I forgot how to cry as a man. HRT gave me a range of emotions I never thought possible

Are they doing it on purpose??

@NotTerfNorCis I've wondered this too. Hmm.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 20/07/2020 08:19

That's odd, going by the men I know I'm almost certain that the presence of testosterone does not disable one's tearbuds.

(There is absolutely nothing progressive about holding onto stereotypes like you're 3 and they're your favorite teddy.)

sashagabadon · 20/07/2020 08:30

I think it because they know they cannot win the sports arguments. No one sane could possibly agree that males should be able to compete against females particularly in contact sports. It is an unwinnable argument and makes them look silly to say anything otherwise so they have conceeded it but they have not yet given up the other nonsense.
It is a change of tack ie. Concentrate on the battles they may be able to win.
It does mean that they have to row back on twaw though which is good and will no doubt annoy many tra's

Whatsnewpussyhat · 20/07/2020 08:30

Women's hormones make them emotional ???

I thought it was our ovaries Grin

OldCrone · 20/07/2020 08:35

One thing I don't get. If taking hormones alters someone's feelings and personality, how did they know they were supposed to be the opposite sex before taking the hormones? They had the feelings and personality of their own sex, didn't they, at least according to people like Candace?

It's trans logic. It goes something like this: Man is unhappy with some aspect of being male. Therefore he is a woman.

BertiesLanding · 20/07/2020 08:46

One person's experience extrapolated as being intrinsically female. It's just ridiculous.

TheBitterBoy · 20/07/2020 08:48

I don't get why my comment was deleted either, I didn't use incorrect pronouns, and I only queried the appropriateness of the photo choice of the protagonist.

ASmallMovie · 20/07/2020 08:48

‘They’re trying to present both sides’

You’ve obviously not been reading The Guardian of late. They have been promoting an anti-women, pro-trans agenda for months.

The rugby article is surprising, from
The Guardian, because it’s written fairly rather than ‘outrage as...’ Wouldn’t be at all surprised, however, if there’s a piece in the coming days from someone aggrieved by and feeling excluded and discriminated against because of this decision. That’s The Guardian these days. That will no doubt be the request issued at morning conference... it is simply no longer a newspaper that cares about the hard won sex-based rights of girls and women.

LonginesPrime · 20/07/2020 08:51

Nowhere is this more important than around my women friends. I can enjoy their companionship at a deeper level, as they share with me their favourite ways to be

Yes, I share my favourite ways to be with my friends all the time. Hmm

TheBitterBoy I hadn't even noticed the photograph, it really is odd.

I noticed this bit: "When you transition, so does everyone around you. They must unlearn who they thought you were." Why must they? Why does person A deciding to change the way they express themselves mean everyone else on the planet has to change?

Mycatismadeofstringcheese · 20/07/2020 08:57

The author of the article is the same person who writes about shoving tampons up their bum.

imisspockets.com/my-bumhole/

Totally not a fetish.

Bmidreams · 20/07/2020 09:00

I completely forgot to mention the photo!!!

ThatsHowWeRowl · 20/07/2020 09:04

Another moving work by the same author

Well that's 7 minutes of my life I won't ever get back. Why do these people feel the need to put this stuff out there?! Enjoying putting tampons up your bum does not mean you are a woman by the way!

I don't get why they call it HRT either - those hormones are not replacing hormones that the body has stopped making.

OnAPar · 20/07/2020 09:05

I’m so offended.
Toxic stereotypes are not an integral part of being a woman.

LunaNorth · 20/07/2020 09:11

Apart from anything else, why does this person think anyone gives a fuck about his fluctuations sex drive and emotions?

The narcissism is outrageous. And yet it gets printed in a national newspaper. Why?

LunaNorth · 20/07/2020 09:12

Fluctuating, ffs

Winesalot · 20/07/2020 09:19

@Bmidreams

I completely forgot to mention the photo!!!
You mean the weird pic with the tongue poked out?

Seriously though. If that scenario was used in an ad it would be banned for gender stereotyping women so negatively in some countries. If not, it should.

NotBadConsidering · 20/07/2020 09:20

The Guardian hasn’t changed tack. Sean Ingle has regularly reported on fairness in sport and he probably ran this past the sports editor. The article about rugby in no way balances out the article about a male being on oestrogen, wrongly called hormone “replacement” therapy.

If they were being balanced they would not have rejected Laura Dodsworth’s article about females who have detransitioned. It would have been the perfect balance, showing the negatives of hormone therapy. Instead they rejected the article and The Times published it instead.

NotBadConsidering · 20/07/2020 09:23

@Mycatismadeofstringcheese

The author of the article is the same person who writes about shoving tampons up their bum.

imisspockets.com/my-bumhole/

Totally not a fetish.

This will be another author to add to the list of people The Guardian has commissioned for articles who have turned out to be not quite what they were hoping, such as Jamie Shupe and Hannah Mouncey. You only have to look at how the article talks about how too much is made of genitals, only for it then to progress to discuss unwanted erections while watching birds feed 🤮.
TheProdigalKittensReturn · 20/07/2020 09:24

No wonder the guardian is fucked posting crap like that.

The internet is, unfortunately, full of stuff like that. Why would anyone pay The Guardian for it?

ThousandsAreSailing · 20/07/2020 09:26

The tounge out photo is 🤮
Is it supposed to be sexy?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/07/2020 09:26

Trans and gender diverse people today are in the forge of evolution Humanity is fucked then!

Procreation exists for a reason!

This supposed evolution effectively neuters everyone! So how do the forgers of new ways of being suggest humanity reproduces itself? And don't say Gilead... or womb transplants!
