I do wonder how much contact Actionaid employees and volunteers have with the woman and girls they are raising money for and championing? Is it possible that ActionAid UK staff have next to none and their concern over feminism is purely western focused on pomo bullshit and they merely outsource the difficult work with women and girls to completely separate individuals.

I think it's entirely possible, as with many other charities.

We have seen this happen time and time again with dozens of organisations. Probably more. We have seen it with politicians and every single person who requested and paid for this " training". Everyone of them ends up backing themselves into this corner where unavoe to answer basic questions they double down and find themselves claiming babies have no sex, sex doesn't exist etc

Sure, there will be some unsuspecting sod they throw under a bus as they try to come back from what is clearly a ridiculous statement but let's not pretend this was all some misguided intern who posted it in the 30 seconds their supervisor was on the phone.

This is exactly what everyone was warning them about and I'm done giving these idiots the benefit of the doubt now.

That's interesting, because my partner who donates to them got the standard form email basically saying 'we are committed to trans women and trans girls so suck it up.' He asked for a substantive response but heard nothing. There was no indication this was a 'mistake'. He's looking elsewhere to donate his money now.

That's a lot of people to 'listen' to in order to decide if female bodies exist.

People who have periods isn't even there to include FTM transgender people. It's to avoid upsetting MTF transgender people who might feel left out.

Nope, we're not allowed 'females' now either. The hashtag 'only females can get cervical cancer' was deemed hate speech.

This academic identity theory just looks ridiculous when you try to push it into the real world. I do wonder how much longer organisations are going to wander into this with the blinkers on before people start to get the message that it simply does not mesh with their actual objectives at all.

Well, if the comment was 'shared in error', you would have thought they could have told me that when I said was cancelling my direct debit. They chose to bang on about inclusion rather than answer a straightforward question about science.

‘Shared in error’ is not BCCing an email or sending out a press release with a honking typo in it. Not crafting absolute nonsense, circulating it, doubling down then slowly backing away from it.

btw i'm getting a lot of Action Aid ads in my feed in instagram and facebuik - do comment on them and challenge them if an ad comes up in your feed. The facebuik one has some LIVELY responses.

I got the usual bollocks "inclusion of trans women and girls" reply, nothing in it about a mistake. Or for that matter including trans boys and men. Or are they just women and girls, it's only the trans women that ate deserving of inclusion?
