Is it legit to join Horse and Hound if one only rides once a fortnight, hasn't owned a horse since childhood* and has never been hunting? (I've been beagling though, does that count?)

@GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman yes of course there are several regulars that don't ride at all. An interest in horses or dogs helps but neither are compulsory.

It's funny how the thread started about cancel culture but just keeps coming back to the trans issue! People keep trying to pull it back to free speech etc but it keeps circling back.

Also. Intersex. Blimey that one really sticks doesn't it? This is the first time I've seen or been involved in a discussion of these issue outside of FWR where the numbers of people willing to post as GC or not 100% TWAW has been high enough for the conversation to escape being steamrollered. The last time trans came up on HHO I think there were only 2 GC posters willing to speak openly and a few who muttered a little in support. It's quite heartening to see the shift.

I can't be the only one wondering who you all are on HHO . That highlights the problem though i.e. those of us on the GC side who are expressing perfectly reasonable thoughts still feel terrified in case we are 'exposed' :( In some ways I am actually envious of the Kool Aid drinkers because it would be lovely to remain in blissful ignorance ...

Yes definitely wondering who people are, some phraseology is familiar but I'm not going to try and match people up. There are some HHOers that I never thought would be mumsnetters!

I would really like to bring up the issue of children, especially girls being pushed into transition, the effects of medication and detransitioners. I think it would resonate, but I don't really know enough about that side of things.

I really hope some more FWR members join the debate because I have to bow out for a while since the 'kindness' is ramping up again and I feel as though my head might explode with frustration. There is absolutely no problem with genitally intact men sharing changing rooms with prepubescent girls etc. Really? REALLY?

I'm going to have to bow out for a bit too as I have plans this evening but I am also heartened by how balanced the discussion has been, I've been around both for years and never thought I'd see the convergence of FWR and HHO!
