Predictably there are a lot of women defending the need to call women 'cis' but some women are trying to explain that woman is a complete word!

This really made me wonder if there's a correlation between men transferring their transport from horse power to steam and petrol and the loss of associated discipline around controlled sexual behaviour. Mad idea, someone should do a study.

I joined here after the "do men menstruate?" thread on HHO about 3 years ago... down the rabbit hole I went.Grin

Wow, that is some thread. But intersex, but chromosomes, but science, but just be nice, but men are women if they say so. I haven’t read such a load of bollocks in months. Thank goodness there are some sane women willing to argue with these Aunt Lydias.
I would go and post Claire Graham’s brilliant thread on DSDs and also the transcrime website but I would be rumbled as a new poster Grin

@FannyCann

Perhaps we should all join the forum? It's free. The Trojan horses of FWR. I wonder how it's moderated and how quickly dissenting voices get banned? Wink

Please don't! We all know how annoying the people who come on just to sprout their view are. (And yes, I know you're joking)

Just to let everyone know only a few racehorses go on to be stallions. Most will be gelded for a life after racing and, guess what, those jumping horses don’t like being “whole” and going over jumps. By and large, what they never used, they don’t miss!

Just looked in on the HHO debate again and there is a 'kind' poster still going full tilt. Is there a word for someone who cannot comprehend that they might be wrong and who keeps going like a human bulldozer, laying waste to any and all facts that are put before them? I am genuinely puzzled by people whose boundless confidence in their own abilities is not matched by much in the way of actual abilities Grin

I think she definitely worships at the altar of 'Woke'! She's become a sort of high priestess in her own mind and must not, I tell you, be challenged by mere mortals armed with actual facts and other such nonsensical things.

Ooh I am off to H and H forums I haven't been on there since slagging off a particular farrier violently some years ago.

@OldCrone

FannyCann, even a breeding stallion can work (fight wars, compete in dressage, show jump, whatever), even with mares around, because they’ve learned to behave themselves. They have bern taught acceptable behaviour in public vs the bedroom, as it were.

Isn't it interesting that horses can be taught to behave appropriately in public, but men can't be taught to behave appropriately in public and not attack transwomen in the men's toilets.

What techniques are used on horses? Could the same training be used on men who can't behave themselves?

Basically what happens is no matter how good an example a stallion is of it's breed confirmationally, good breeders recognise that good looks aren't actually the be all and end all of breeding good stock.

So if a potential stallion doesn't behave himself, have good manners and respect for his handlers, future mares and other horses including other stallions and geldings he has an appointment made with the vet to have his nuts off.

Good stallion but better gelding tends to summarise a badly behaved, rude, obnoxious but confirmationally good entire.

Always thought it would be useful to be able to do the same to men tbh.

@Shannith I have been on HHO for years, since the clubhouse was the lounge and the fat controller used to join in threads. I had no interest in Mumsnet, the idea of a forum full of Mums talking about their precious offspring was my idea of hell. Little did I know.

Then when penis beaker kicked off on here one of the old regulars on HHO posted a link and a bunch of us popped over for a laugh.

I found that there is much more to Mumsnet than I thought and popped back more frequently as format changes on HHO affected how busy the forum was. I spend more time here now but I do love the community feel to HHO compared to the anonymity here.

Anyway glad to see things are going in the right direction on that thread now!!! I don't think it is the first trans thread though, I have posted on one before.

Yes, sorry, you do have to register to see this part of the HHO forum. It's worth it though because 'the kindness' runs very strong in one poster and it's quite entertaining to see her plough relentlessly on and on in the face of overwhelming evidence that she's talking tripe. She's currently arguing with some very intellectual women but still she forges ignorantly on and on and on .....

@lexilooo I remember the Fat Controller with affection.

I too used to spend far more time on there, until I found here and now I only nip back occasionally when I need advice on my (very mareish Smile) mare.

It's at the top of the club house section. To be fair there are a lot of very well informed and articulate HHO posters of very long standing fighting the good fight very successfully. I'm really impressed.

I've caved, and finally registered here. Been a lurker for ages, but am getting fed up of caution. Hello from HHO! Like some others, I was drawn here by the sheer madness of AIBU threads (as linked on HHO), and stayed for the vigorous discussion of e.g. Charlie G., which I didn't see anywhere else. Deffo not a Princess Anne type, but do think my horses' concern with the contents of their feed buckets serve as a grounding influence on my ideological concerns. Hi there!

Hi Trivium, I may already be speaking to you elsewhere mind you! I'm not a Princess Anne type either and, actutally, I've never quite forgiven her for nearly mowing me down at a horse trials once. She was in her Range Rover and I was stewarding. It was a long time ago and, fortunately, I could leap like a stag back then Grin

Oh dear! Was she not looking where she was going? I imagine if I met her, she might actually be quite fun to talk to about horses. But that's hard to do while leaping out of the way!

The crazy thing about that debate is that it wasn't even about self-ID. It was meant to be about cancel culture, and so JKR came up, and then it got derailed. I am really worried for many reasons about the low level of critical thinking and writing skills with which people leave university, never mind school, which makes them prone to believing uncritically everything they read, and which makes them unable to evaluate arguments and to tell the difference between journalism, opinion pieces, and research. If the goal was to get 50% through university, surely the level of public discourse should have gone up, rather than descending into insults and circular reasoning?
