From Penis News, but hopefully this link won't give them revenues:

this thread explored that question and had some very valuable contributions but basically found no reason for differentiating between the types of disorder. Keira Bell also feels that it is a mental health issue and the more times I go over it, the more I agree.

It appears from twitter that this move is permanent...

twitter.com/LilyLilyMaynard/status/1287804669750894593?s=19

1/ Breaking News! The BBC today emailed its BBC Pride Network to tell members that Mermaids will be permanently removed from its Action Line contacts ‘following audience complaints’

2/ “... against a backdrop of increasingly contested issues relating to trans issues and children. It is a complex area and the BBC needs to remain impartial when signposting audiences to organisations that can offer appropriate advice.”

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/1nYWPTdMtKStFL2ztx1SV11/information-and-support-lgbt-issues

The entire gender issues page has been removed, and now the LGBT page just points to the NHS for gender issues.

Oh my god, I can't believe it!

GIRES was being referenced on the new RSE curriculum at my kids school and I was going to bring it up with the headteacher, so this is really good timing as well.

I wonder if this is just due to the known about UK court case coming up etc or if the BBC know something else as well?

This is brilliant! I think that people are now realising that Mermaids are a controversial charity and they can defend this easily. Who would want their child to be treated by a doctor who had been struck off ?

I would imagine there has been a massive re-think. They will have taken everything into consideration. Not just complaints.

I have a feeling there will be a lot of backtracking done as quietly as possible.

We'll know when the corner has been turned.... Kier Starmer will suddenly have an opinion

When Keir Starmer has an opinion we will know who has won.

I take my hat off to the BBC. It can't have been an easy decision considering how divided they are internally on this.
The BBC teaching materials next, please.

Well done auntie. Was inevitable really, bbc news couldn't be covering the Tavistock situation or various upcoming court cases while another part of the BBC is recommending a charity promoting one side in these cases. Where the BBC goes others follow, so would anticipate other news organisations following suite. Plus would anticipate a rethink in funding bodies such as Comic Relief and Children in Need.

Shhh is that the sound of the UK gravy train coming to an end? They'll now have to rely on US tech companies until the lawsuits mean they abandon them too...

Good news. This is something that all parents can quote to all those clueless headteachers welcoming these toxic organisations into schools.
