Another one who cried here!
What a wonderful, powerful advert.

I've just swapped to bodyform this month having previously not used them since I was a teen. The first time in I dont know how long that I havent had an itch fanny from the scented shit in Always.
I won't be switching back !

"And who's ever been taken by surprise by dripping blood on the floor? "

Me! In the bathroom both post partum and when I didn't realise my period was coming. I've never had endometriosis or the menopause, or been a lesbian! But I can empathise with women who have had these experiences.

Cried my eyes out. So powerful, my god women are fucking incredible aren't we. Let us be heard, fuck yes let us be heard.

What about the periods that are just a discomfort, or manageable pain, not rolling around in agony? What about the living day-to-day life in touch with the rhythms of your female body?

Tbh we have had years of that. Focus being carrying on with life rollerblading in white jeans and of course a huge push on discretion and hiding the fact you even have a period that difsgers from a nicely contained puddle of blue in the middle if a pad.

Its kinda nice to see the darker side explored and remind women who go through that they are not alone.

Jelly literally the only good thing about periods is that I was able to have children. Not just "that's the positive reward". In fact, that's the only thing that's not outright negative.

I'm now on the pathway of prolonging keeping my uterus for as long as possible before hysterectomy. Because I'm in my early 30s and due to family history it's unknown when menopause may hit. If I have it out now, I may be on HRT for 30 years with all it's side effects. Instead I'm drugged and coiled and monitored regularly, trying to find the delicate balance between the risks of HRT and the pure life ruining experience that is menstruation. We're trying to keep treading that line until mid 40s at least to minimise HRT time.

And who's ever been taken by surprise by dripping blood on the floor? You'd have to be standing legs-akimbo for that to happen.

Regularly. I think I might have quite heavy periods though.

I think they covered that with the woman who put her new knickers on then had to change straight away and the girl getting ready for sports.

As a teenager I flooded quite often. Usually at home, but once in my aunt's car. We had to pull in at a supermarket so I could clear up whilst Mum got me new pants and trousers. One of my colleagues flooded whilst teaching a class and had to run out the room. Luckily she had some leggings with her to change in to.

Wow that was amazing. I really wasn't expecting to cry at it because I almost never cry at anything but I was properly blubbing by half way through. Thank you body form for such a beautiful powerful honest advert. I use reusable towels now but always buy disposibles for the food bank and will be buying bodyform from now on.

Amazing ad, and have just contacted them to say thank you for such an honest representation of women's stories relating to having a womb.

I too have flooded quite recently. At work. I had to put a wadge of loo roll in my knickers and hot foot it down to town to buy a pair of emergency pants. I was mortified.

I love this. Infertile, ttc for years, investigations found nothing, now 48 yo and starting to have the odd hot flush. I cried watching this and have a work video call in 20 minutes so need to get myself together (pre-menstrual now so easier said than done haha!)

This is so true to womanhood and so brave. The art and music is amazing and the humour spot on too. Will share on Twitter and let other women watch Smile

Wish Bodyform made a cup and I would buy it.

I think the "people" reference in endometriosis bit in the press release may be to include trans men - I am ok with that as women and trans men both have wombs

Definitely a thank you email on its way Bodyform. So many women in tears on this thread. I think it’s not only that Bodyform have made an amazing Ad but also that we all have been so fucking ground down by a lot of woman-hating shit lately that watching an ad like this has literally opened the floodgates. I need to know what ad agency and which Director created that Ad. Off to Google (and email).

Not if your ovaries aren't removed, Honeysuckle.

Yep I cried. Thought it was because I'm pregnant and hormonal but see lots of other comments saying the same thing.

Great to see women and women specific issues at the heart of it. Great advert.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 03/07/2020 13:16

Jess if I don't have my ovaries removed they will continue to pump out oestrogen which will continue to stimulate the endometrial tissue that exists outside of my uterus (that's how the disease works) so I will continue to experience crippling pain. Believe me and my multiple consultants, we've considered all options.
