Why r/GenderCritical was banned by Reddit

Hi! TRA here! Thought I'd take a quick breather from all the crowing, high-fiving, etc. to throw a lifeline to any actual open-minded critical thinkers wondering why Reddit banned r/gendercritical. Basically, you have 2 options when it comes to what to believe:

1. It's a true conspiracy: silicon valley, hollywood & the media are in the thrall of the well-funded TransAgenda, the need for woke points, child-groomers, women-haters, MRAs, etc. etc.

1. r/GenderCritical was hateful - if you want evidence then go to r/GenderCynical which existed to harvest said hatefulness. Read their strictly enforced rules about hate speech, misogyny, anti-feminism, pile-ons, doxxing, etc. (NB: abbreviating "trans exclusionary radical feminist" is not considered hate speech on this subreddit) and then sort their posts by "top" and "all time" and judge for yourself.

The trans men, trans women and non-binary people of Reddit do not hate women and do not tolerate abuse. Have a better day. x

I’ve just revisited the trans widows threads and the threads on agp. They provide a useful lens to read some people’s posts on this board and others.

I'm not anti feminist.
I believe in women being able to think for themselves, I believe we are able and capable of making our own choices, having our own thoughts, and not having to blame every little thing we do on the patriarchy or have any wrongdoing explained away because woman.
I believe in freedom of choice, the ability to be able to think for ourselves, know what we like, without others telling us what to do or think, whether that others is men or other women.
Before someone parrots "choice isn't made in a vacuum" - maybe not, but I know women are capable of independent thought and it doesn't mean they've been brainwashed.
I just can't align myself with gate keeping feminists, saying what is and isn't so called womanly or what we should be doing or thinking.
Doesn't mean I'm any less than you just because my stance isn't radical.

You certainly don't demonstrate a willingness to centre female experience or thought, so I'm not sure what form your feminism takes.

The OP was invited more than once to cease lying about GC, and instead contribute to discussion on a feminist issue that interests them.

I don't get that though - the OP started this thread as there was discussion on here over Reddit GC being banned - seeing as OP was the moderator on Reddit (someone correct me if I'm wrong, moderator probably the wrong word?!) they came here to explain why.
I've never been over to Reddit GC, so haven't seen for myself but I know the stuff I see here that allows differing opinions, and some of those are a bit
If GC Reddit only had one voice and chased away others that believed TWAW, (again, correct me if I'm wrong) but I can see why it's gone if so.
Some views tip into hateful and if there was no opposing views and just affirming/backslapping each other for hate, yeah, how is that good?

Ok - "so called womanly" the whole nexus of radical feminism is that this idea of what women should think or adhere to a specific aesthetic is null.

Womanhood is about biology and you can't identify out of it.

"Gate keeping feminists" - well yes. Feminism is absolutely about gatekeeping women's rights.

It's the foundation it's built on.

Any "form" of "feminism" that's happy to play the Trojan Horse and let men in through the gate is simply anti- feminist.

So you think all women's spaces must accept the pseudo religious claim that gender identity makes males into women, and dissenters should be shut down.

I read GC for years. It was not hateful. It was FEMALE.

Interesting to me that you don't accept the testimony of women who actually read the site.

Funny how that only works one way though - if you aren't talking nice enough with a dissenting opinion then you're a man.

100 quid says that was written by a TRA to make it look like all GC hate trans people or some internet troll, but not an actual GC woman.

Also, how fast did mods take it down, the screenshot was only taken 5 minutes after posting. You cannot accuse it of hate if you don't give em a chance to moderate.

I can’t read that on my device. But, as we often see on this board, TRA’s put anti-trans stuff in for screenshots. How do you know that wasn’t put there by a TRA to cause trouble? Answer: you can’t.

That was not posted on GC Reddit by a GC Redditor, and it would have been removed by mods had it been.

There were zero posts like that on GC Reddit.
