The effect of lockdown on transitioning teen girls

I mentioned this on another thread, but as a worker in a high school we have found out during weekly phone calls home that since lockdown that most of our FtM students have de transitioned, perhaps as there is no longer the group peer pressure or affirmation from teachers? I was interested to see if there are any more examples - the other thread was started about Dr Haddock, and I felt this was worthy of its own thread.

In our school there were nine girls out of a approx 160 student year 9 cohort who identified as boys. Seven have now de transitioned since lockdown and one is considering it. Out of those nine I would have said three of them weren’t as committed as the others and had said they were “thinking about being non binary”, but were keen to remain part of that friendship group. It really is infectious.

i need to speak to school nurse

Ask the school nurse:

--'how would they like to go through life without an orgasm?'

--'Do they warn children that they may never have an orgasm if they get hormones? '

I think Benji on YouTube talks about this. And this quote below is used a lot but I can't find a link to the source of it:

Blocking puberty impedes the development of sexual functioning; some children given GnRHa never develop the capacity for orgasm (Jontry 2018).

I am very concerned about just who her friends are talking about. She did mention that some of her friends had formed internet ‘relationships’ over lock down

@Winesalot

Will your daughter watch something if you ask her to?

These 4 women talk about social media when they were 15 years old and what happened ... answering the question what do you remember is like your first exposure to like kind of the trans community on social media?

Sorry I don’t know your daughter’s age but has you gone down the subject access request route? You formally request all records involving your daughter and son and all documents that mention them. It’s used frequently by parents having issues over SEND provision

I watched the Netflix film "A Social Dilemma", and they pinpointed the rise in mental health issues in teenagers (but particularly in girls) to the advent of social media like Twitter and Instagram.
Does that also fit with the 2014/2015 timeline of the increase of ROGD?

If the child is 12+ your child will need to give their permission for a subject access request (data protection issues). You can request their education record without their permission but nothing else.

I’m in the middle of doing exactly this with my daughter’s school who won’t tell me a thing because she is 12+.

All I can say is thank god for this board and all the knowledge contained on it.

I never thought I would find the knowledge I have gained about male fetishes all that applicable.

However, I have now seen a very disturbing conversation on a group chat between her school friends (all are either NB, trans, bi or lesbian) that my daughter shut down wisely once she saw the content. Over lockdown I think some of her friends have become even more very entrenched in the ideology than I suspected. And I also suspect a couple have joined chat groups on Discord that might be dangerous.

My daughter understands the dangers, and the harms. She pushes back with respect and I think she is ok.
